such a dumb ****ing law. In my world I piss wherever the **** and whenever the **** I please. Stooooopid law, oh my god a naturaul part of the human body is beinjg shown, whatever the **** shall we do?????

I thought he was going to get it thrown out or at least enter a "no contest" plea.

I had gotten bad info on this. No wonder Embree said a few months ago that he wouldn't be back at CU.

Boulder DA might have been a BIT too gungho on this one. I'm really curious as to who it was.

Oh nevermind, I thought he was the one caught pissing. Ya, I can see now. Still indecent exposure is still a dumb law

I too am troubled by this. Did he really do any harm to this woman? What, at worse, occurred here besides some flashing.

Ive heard that if BPD catches you urinating in public they will write you up as a sex offender.

I don't think they had any other choice under state law. This became a big issue surrounding the Naked Pumpkin Run and also there was a couple in town that was offending its neighbors because they were nudists and liked to garden (private property, but you could easily see over the fence).

They're not sex offenders by any stretch of the imagination. But they are violating community standards of public decency -- whether I agree with those standards or not. The police didn't have an option between ignoring the offenders and writing them up as sex offenders. I'm not sure if this has changed.

How long does he have to carry the sex offender tag? Tough to live a decent life with that hanging over your head.

We pulled the sex offender list for my zip code in Longmont. It was dozens of pages long. There were literally hundreds of people on it. Which left me, as a concerned parent, to conclude these statues are being over used. You see, Im only interested in the pedophiles. After going through the list I could not make heads nor tails of who might be an actual threat to my children and who simply got caught urinating in public or had sex with his HS girl friend or did some other small thing to earn that title.

He pulled back the shower curtain while she was showering and presumably saw her. This should be illegal.

So a sex offender is anyone thats naked?

Two kids texting nude photos to each other?

This is victimless crime.

In my mind a rapist is a sex offender. They are over using the term and turning everyone into sex offenders. Which isn't do anyone in the public worried about such people any good.

I agree with you. We are labelling so many people that some of the truly dangerous ones are getting away with hiding among the others. This doesn't say that exposing yourself by peeing in the bushes is okay but there is a big difference between that and being a rapist or pedophile.

Some things should stay on a persons record forever. I don't care if it was 40 years ago I want to know if someone living nearby was innapropriate with a child. On the other hand someone who gets drunk at 19 and the cops wake him up laying in the bushes with his pants partially off then if he lives a normal life the next ten years I don't need to have him on some list with the actual dangerous people.

To me, the punishment seems excessive. Saying that, I dont know firsthand how it works there. Maybe there is more to the story than I read, not sure. Maybe the punishment fit how the law is written, either way think it's a little much. Ive seen people who committed worse things get less probation. There are different types of probation too so, maybe his is like a just dont get in trouble for the probation term thing. Sucks, hope he gets things together and moves on.

He pled guilty to a lesser offense too. Five years seems pretty harsh for someone, well doing something really dumb, it doesn't say anything about him touching her, threatening her, or acting aggressive towards her. But that doesnt mean he didnt.

I re-read the article and pulling back the shower curtain was not a smart move on his part. His case doesn't fit the urinating in public argument. He shouldn't have gone in there and shouldn't have pulled back the curtain. He's hard to defend for that. But five years? Wow.

One other issue with these types of sex crimes is that what decides whether they're a crime or not is the level of attraction from the victim.

If she had been into him, she might have thought it was funny or even stepped into the shower with him.

Using myself as an example of a victim, if Beyonce flashed her boobs in my face and entered my personal space with them I'd consider it a damn fine day in my life. If Whoopi did it, I'd feel like I was the victim of assault.

Studies have shown that people perceived as more attractive are charged for sexual harassment at a lower rate than uggos.

I really doubt you say this if he did this to your daughter. And from what I heard he said some pretty sexually explicit things to the girl while laughing about it later

I'd probably be calling Waldo to see if I could swing by and borrow Lucille.

Agreed. Anyone that thinks it is no big deal to casually stroll into the women's bathroom and pull out your junk in front of some random coed needs to check their priorities. He got what he deserved. Good luck with the rest of his life.

So he ended up in the penal system for displaying his penile system....let this be a lesson to you scholarship athletes. Spare the rod or you'll spoil your ride.

I pulled it for where I live. I think you should have concluded you live in a bad neighborhood.
