Isn't the NCAA still investigating or not? I'd think people would consider that before wanting to go there.
The NCAA is not responsible for investigating criminal matters like sexual assault. The Penn State episode proved that any NCAA sanction will likely be repealed.
The NCAA is not an enforcement body for Title 9 and Cleary Act infractions. This is also left to the criminal justice system.
Baylor, as a private institution filled with wealthy donors and sympathetic attorneys, have a strategy to settle. Victims are money whipped into silence, before anything comes to trial.
Do not hold your breath for the local law enforcement to do much. Unlike Boulder, there is no Sarah Kuta in Waco acting as a media watchdog for any story involving sexual misconduct.
The state of Texas won't do anything because Baylor isn't a public school and is therefore out of the reach of Freedom of Information requests and state oversight.
The DoJ and the Department of Education are large, bumbling federal bureaucracies filled with people who would rather not be in Waco (unless it involves firebombing a cult).
Don't hold your breath for justice. We may never know the facts or truth.
Everyone from the conference to the NCAA to local, state, and federal agencies are twiddling their thumbs and assuming someone else is in charge.
BU's injustices simply fall through the cracks. It's an American tragedy, really. What a stain on college football!
