BCS Bowl Selections

UCF/ Bailer? Fiesta? More like Siesta....
What a crappy bowl season...but I'll still watch.

OSU was exposed (again). They've been trying to lose in a bad conference all year. Clemson will bury them.

Hate Bailer too much to bother. The Fiesta will probably be the worst of the bunch although it would be classic awesome if UCF went Boise State on Bailer. Classic Awesome.

Next year, there are no limits on how many teams per conference end up in the seeded bowls. This is where the SEC, by only playing 8 conf games and then 4 games against horrible non-competition, wins. They will consistently end up with the most teams going in to the seeded bowls. If it were that way this year, it would be Auburn and Alabama in the 4 team playoff, plus Mizzou and South Carolina grabbing 2 of the 5 at large picks in the other seeded bowls. Wow.

Official Bowl lineup is out there. SEC, Big 10, Big 12, and ACC all get 2 BCS bids each.

A few thoughts/facts:
Orange Bowl matches Ohio State and Clemson, their first meeting since the '78 Gator Bowl and the Woody Hayes punch. With Duke going to the Chic-Fil-A Bowl it might mean the first time that bowl hasn't sold out in quite a while. Rose Bowl is a great matchup of good old-fashioned football. The ACC is sending an NCAA-record 11 teams to bowl games.

Bowl game selection is where weak traveling by Pac-12 fans really hurts the conference.

Tie-ins aren't great and when a bowl has flexibility there are usually going to be other, more profitable, options.

Oregon playing in San Antonio vs Texas.... That will be a home game for Texas. Hopefully Oregon sends off Mack Brown with a loss which would be fitting for his tenure at Texas. I am curious to see how Stanford does against Michigan State and it appears as though the Pac-12 should end up with a fairly good win/loss ratio at the end of this bowl season.

Yep. All of the Pac-12 bowl tie-ins are on the west coast. Makes it tough to get bowls in the midwest or back east to consider Pac-12 teams.

Oregon killed themselves with their attendance for last year's Fiesta Bowl.

*Should edit - all bowls except Alamo Bowl.

i know my son who is a ducks alum season ticket holder went to two rose bowls and the natty... he said alot of his buddies are out of cash for travel to bowl games every year and now are picking their spots.. i as a buffs fan have plenty of cash to attend any bowl game we get invited to!

Is Colorado and Utah and Cal the only Pac schools not going bowling? If so, that is changing next year. If WSt.U can do it then so can CU.

And Cal, but yes, you are right. In watching the middle of the Pac 12, there isn't that much of a leap to get there. 2 years, tops IMO.
