This whole article just gets me upset and peeved off. Bohn and Phil DiStefano present zero leadership and lack any real fondness for the fan base. Not once did they point out that CU FANs bear the brunt of the nice profit for the RMS and we have supported the team in spite of the poor record.
It is time for Bohn to go - he is just a yes man not a leader.
It's as if CU is more concerned with not rubbing the CSU fan base the wrong way than anything else. Bohn has a game and a season to promote. He isn't going to rock the boat now.
But there is an elephant in the room, and it has a huge banner on the side that says CU and CSU are not equals. CU ignores their disgruntled fans, slaps season ticket holders with a manditory $55 ticket fee for the nosebleed seats in an NFL stadium that has the shape of a diaphragm, which neatly symbolizes a sterile and unproductive environment. CU looks away as the authorities at Sports Authority have their way with their fans, messing with tailgates, delaying entry, and imposing a heavy police presence keep things from spinning out of control.
Mike won't bring up a desired rotation with AFA or mention the hardship of scheduling around a new 9-game conference schedule, and the reality that this game needs to come to Boulder every other year to facilitate a promise to his constituents that there must be atleast 6 home games every year.
He won't tell the DPD or Argus how to act. Atleast not now.
CU brings more money and clout to the table, but its impolite to bring this up and provide locker room material.
Leaders from both schools play their little charade for the press and pretend that this is a rivalry game between equals and don't do anything to dispel the illusion that this game matters and deserves to be played inside a neutral stadium.
In actuality, this game is the college football scheduling equivalent of food stamps the provides a lesser school with a subsidy that the Rams couldn't afford to live without, even when that means CU historically wins 3 out of 4 games, even during the down years. Jack Graham can say more because CSU is desperate and is struggling with their very survival. The only way this works for them is if the stadium is full.
