Best teams

I was looking at the 2002 NFL draft and, as far as first and last games CU lost, David Carr is the #1 pick and Joey Harrington is #3. That's pretty tough competition. I loved Joey playing the piano throughout the Fiesta Bowl. Groan.

When did Ochs get hurt in 2001?

Pretty sure Ochs got hurt vs Texas in the regular season?? I think he came back and tried to play a few times after the initial injury. If I recall correctly, he started the Oklahoma State game that Pesavento finished. Will always remember that long 2pt conversion from Pesavento to Dan Graham. I think Ochs had a long td pass early in that game and then we had to come back late in the second half.

The 2001 season is really special to me because it's the first one I have really deep detailed memories from. It all clicked for me during that run. Finally understood what it was that made my dad love the buffs so much. I think it's honorable mention territory in the grand scheme of things.

2002 felt like a really good but obviously worse than the original sequel to that season. It was good enough for them to continue milking that franchise for three more years, though. Traveling to Lincoln and watching the buffs backup rbs put the fuskers to sleep is a great memory for me personally.

2016 and 2024 are the only other great years in that whole span. We will have a clear new entry for the top 5 before too long, I feel.

Texas. Would have been better if it was preseason

He got hurt against texas a&m

The best team I've seen in my lifetime was 2001-2002 Miami. Damn, they were loaded. The 2002-03 team was about the same. They got screwed in that game against Blowhio State.
Didn't McGahee blow out his knee in that one on top of the screw job from the refs at the end?

I didn't want to put the clip up,.damn, it was about as nasty as you'll see. I'm surprised he could play and play well after that one. Not quite Theismann bad but not far off it. It was Will Allen that hit him I believe.
