The only big news for the Big 12 when it comes to bowls this week was Iowa State's loss. The Cyclones were set up to earn a sixth win, but ran into a motivated Colorado team that played its best game since a win over Georgia in nonconference play. (By the way, looking back, how did that happen? Georgia gave Auburn a good run at Auburn on Saturday.)
That means that barring an upset by the Cyclones over Missouri on Saturday and Texas wins over Florida Atlantic and Texas A&M, the Big 12 will only have eight bowl-eligible teams.
Worse for Iowa State is losing Austen Arnaud, a three-year starter at quarterback who'll miss his final game in Ames as a Cyclone, and make it harder for Iowa State to pull the upset of the Tigers.
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Nebraska vs. BCS
AT&T Cotton Bowl: Oklahoma State vs. SEC
Valero Alamo Bowl: Oklahoma vs. Pac-10
Insight Bowl: Missouri vs. Big Ten
Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl: Texas A&M vs. Pac-10
Texas Bowl: Baylor vs. Big Ten
New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Kansas State vs. Big East
TicketCity Bowl: Texas Tech vs. Big Ten
