Nebraska's running backs: With two hurt quarterbacks on a windy day in Ames, this one was on them. They delivered. Roy Helu Jr. and Rex Burkhead combined for 228 yards on 42 carries and three touchdowns, including a go-ahead touchdown in overtime by Burkhead. Burkhead ran out of the Wildcat formation for much of the game, and helped the Huskers survive a rough day without Taylor Martinez with a 31-30 win in Ames.
Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma: Justin Blackmon returned and was Justin Blackmon (13 rec, 179 yards, TD, also a 69-yard TD run), but Weeden was on the money all day, throwing for a school-record 435 yards and completing a school-record 34 passes for three touchdowns, helping the Oklahoma State offense rack up a school-record 725 yards of total offense.
Taylor Potts, QB, Texas Tech: Potts lost his starting spot, but gained it back by engineering a big 24-17 comeback win over Missouri, leading the Red Raiders to touchdowns on his first two drives and throwing three touchdown passes in the win.
James Sims, RB, Kansas: Kansas was done, fans heading for the exits, resigned to a 12th consecutive conference loss and trailing by 28 with just over 11 minutes to play. The Jayhawks rallied, and Sims scored three rushing touchdowns, including a 28-yard, game-winner with 52 seconds to play, bringing the Jayhawks losing streak in conference to an end with a shocking win over Colorado. He finished with 123 yards on 20 carries and four touchdowns.
