Bob Stoops Stepping Down at OU

I think being a college HC very much is a learn on the job kinda thing where it becomes clear fairly quickly whether you're cut out for it or not. You can only learn so much as an assistant.
And that's why finding the right fit is the most important part, not like the NFL where you just take whatever job you can get.

TB was "successful" in the most mundane of terms. He stabilized a program. That's about the best you can say about him.

And cut it with the calm yourself crap. You don't have a monopoly on unemotional posts.
Dammit 4DB, get a grip.

So MikMac could be a HC candidate at OU? I hope the Regents are taking notice.

Interesting point by football scoop that they probably waited until the dead period so Lincoln Riley could be out recruiting all spring while the head coach could not.

It's a shame. As a college football fan, we just lost one of the best coaches way before I would have expected.

As a fan of CU that recruits in many of the same places OU recruits, I smell opportunity.

Stoops looks to be working on a sweet mega mansion in Chicago, dude's ready to live it up.

So homes in Oklahoma and Chicago means living it up? A dude his age and money should have a place in Mauai and Italy, not Chicago and Oklahoma. Must love the humidity or something (says the guy who has lived in both).

Is it really considered "living" if you reside in Oklahoma?

I don't give a **** what goes on with him really. He's made his money, wants to hang it up, there's the door. Very good coach though, I don't know anything about the wrong guy.

My UT friends are positively giddy.

First time since 1947 that there will be a first year head coach for both uTerus and the land thieves. I gotta think Herman has the advantage since he's been a HC, but the boomers roster is still much better.

Interesting point from radio today. Players from their top ten recruiting class are already on campus. If any of them wanted to leave because of the coaching change they're outta luck. They would have to get released and give up a year.

Moved to Chicago? Eyes on Notre Dame...maybe? No scoop or anything just interesting timing.

More conference championships (10) than home losses (9).

Only lost back to back game three times in 283 games.

As good of work/life balance as you can have as a HC.

Worked with same AD and Prez for 18 years. All were in on Lincoln Riley, fantastic choice, for a year.
