Boise State files complaint against MWC - may leave

People are getting too focused on local media market. Often the bigger factor is the regional or national draw when ESPN has a team play. The AAC would significantly enhance its inventory of games that would be a national draw with the programs like UCF, Houston, Cincinnati, Temple and Memphis which are often ranked. When those teams played Boise State, it would draw eyeballs nationally on par with a decent P5 game broadcast (even if BSU wasn't ranked). Also, it would make the NY6 appearance a near-lock for the AAC and significantly enhance its argument that we should have 6 Power conferences with the AAC moving into the spot that the Big East once occupied.

Edit: Similarly, this is why NU was so valuable to the B1G. It had zero to do with the greater Lincoln media market.

CU was a popular tv draw, nationally, in the late 80's and 90's.

I'd love to see that happen again.
