I think Washington will lose at least 1 game if not 2 in the regular season which means the only path to the Rose Bowl is to win the CCG.

The more modern example of "boat raced" is the ultimate hydroplane racing. I've always been fascinated by your impressions of the Pac--especially the dominant team. Who do you think is going to beat Washington?

It will be interesting to see what darnold can do up there on the he road, he is kind of a gunslinger type that can make plays against that defense, and it doesn't hurt to have the best receiver in the conference.
Carolina has an interesting hatred toward UW. I've actually always wondered why that is.
Just looked at the PAC-12 standings for five minutes and I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about with the tiebreaker nonsense. Doesn't matter how many times Utah loses. We control our own destiny. Win out and we'll have one conference loss while Utah and USC have at least two.
Oregon, I think primarily, but he doesn't respect the Pac in general. That's fine, and not uncommon from his part of the world. But to my way of thinking, what Oregon did to FSU a few years ago is what I think of the Pac v. ACC, in general.

Know that question wasn't for me but ill answer anyway. If it all works out, we have a punchers chance at Udub, very tough one though. We gotta have the kicking game figured out by then. Their Dline is no joke, pretty stout.
For me it dates back to Slick walking out on the Buffs in a most classless manner and bragging about how Washington spent money on football. While that part was true, his manner of departure and how Washington took him pissed me off.

Pretty remarkable after this decade of ineptitude how much of our history still stacks up well against other programs.
Pac12:
Southern Cal: 50 (soon to be 51)
Washington: 35 (soon to be 36)
UCLA: 35 (very tough road to make a bowl this season sitting 3-5)
Oregon: 30 (not making a bowl this year)
Colorado: 29 (counting this upcoming appearance)
Arizona State: 29 (bowl eligibility suddenly no guarantee for the Sun Devils this year)
Stanford: 25 (presumably bowling again this year)
Cal: 22 (very tough road to get bowl eligible this season)
Utah: 19 (soon to be 20)
Arizona: 19 (won't be bowling this season)
Oregon State: 15 (won't be bowling this season)
Washington State: 12 (bowling this year)
To have been so bad right when bowl games became so accessible and yet still be sitting 5th or 6th (depending on how ASU finishes) is fairly remarkable. Most of these teams have been picking up bowl games left and right over the last decade while we've been dormant since 2007, and yet we're still in the upper-echelon of the Pac. Oregon did the most damage to us over this decade in surpassing us given their **** history, along with ASU catching up and UCLA and Washington giving themselves a little distance on us.
Most bowls of any program? Alabama will be making their 65th (and maybe 66th...) appearance this season.
Fewest bowls of any power conference program? Vanderbilt with 7.

Would personally prefer holiday due to cost of travel, but that payout for the Alamo is pretty sweet.
Is San Antonio expensive to fly to? The hotels, rental cars, etc got to be cheaper than San Diego.
Ya airfare from Denver to San Antonio is more expensive. Although I haven't looked into flying into Austin. Might be a better deal.
It's a little under 1.5 hours drive each way from Austin; if you'd be willing to do a little under 3 hours each way you could fly into Houston which is much cheaper.
Good point. I will keep that in mind if we get sent to the alamo bowl.
Did any season ticket holders get an email yesterday about reserving bowl tickets? I didn't see one.
Who said that we don't control our own destiny? Ofcourse we do. We don't in a case of a 3 way tie if Utah beats us and we all end up with 2 losses in the PAC......
If USC wins out, we lose to Utah and Utah loses to Washington, that is where we don't control......

as far as rental car? If we go to Holiday, you can pull off no rental car. San Diego has Hotels/Motels within walking distance and better public transportation. Alamo and Rose cities are just so spread out it makes it more difficult for public transportation. I am looking into - just me and my son, Uber from the airport to closest motel for one night and hopefully be able to walk or shuttle to/from game. The airport being so far from the Rose Bowl makes it costly and same for Alamo Bowl.
To answer the San Antonio/Austin/Houston dilemma. Houston is a pretty easy drive about 2 hours from San Antonio, but the Houston traffic sucks ass.
Austin to San Antonio is about and hour and a half down the interstate but airfare cost not much savings.

Driving from Houston's airports to downtown San Antonio is at least 3 hrs.
Foster Farms Bowl is also going to be a bit tricky too due to its location. Flying into San Jose is pricey, but if you fly into San Fran, you either have to rent a car or deal with CalTrain.

When we do get the bowl game we are going to can someone start a sticky with how to get tickets, good places to stay and maybe the best airfare they found? I'm going to be paying for 4 people to go on a tight budget, any help would be greatly appreciated. This is our one trip for the year....but dam worth it.
Isn't Oakland cheaper to fly into than San Jose?
Alamo/Holiday/Foster Farms - I can take the whole family; Rose - Probably me and just the boy, wife has inservice on the 3rd (required to attend) and I don't want to have both kids when the youngest doesn't really care about the game anyway. Both kids have school on the 3rd, but missing one day isn't going to affect him.
