Buffs vs Jayhawks

I find it interesting that we are frothing at the mouth to play KU in basketball but some folks don't want a home and home with the huskers in football.

it is pretty simple, they use RPI in basketball. If we beat Nebraska or Lincoln diesel truck college it counts the same way in the standings. If we beat Kansas in basketball instead of kansas school for blind kids, it provides a huge boost in our RPI and goes a long way to making the tourney.

Who? where are they?

Different mentality for Hoops scheduling than football. In hoops losing to top competition is better for you than beating up on creampuffs. Football obviously has different implications for losses. Plus, personally I was there for 62-36, but was stuck at a meeting in the UMC when we shocked Kansas - (on campus but not at that game......MUST GET CLOSURE!!!)

theres a good chance we win one of these two basketball games. The same cannot be said at the moment for the fuskers

Also reading the comments on ESPN make me laugh. Either the blue birds are really ignorant enough to think they are going to waltz in here and have the same exact experience as before, or they are absolutely terrified that they are going to lose an OOC conference game to a team outside the top 25.

reading the comments remind me how much I hate jayhawk fans. From their sense of entitlement to the consistent whining, it is like watching a basketball game with thousands of poorly behaved children. Now I just want to be them in the Keg east and the CEC.

God dammit. I realize it's a good move for the program, but **** me. Seriously? The Beakers? JFC.

 I had the same reaction. Helps out the OOC/RPI big time..... but did it have the be the those guys? sigh.

True story: I delivered a pizza to Kirk Hinrich at the Ramada when I was working for Fatty J's in college after they had played a close game at the CEC. When I walked into the lobby was on the way to the room there were all these fat ass KU fans sitting around the INDOOR POOL drinking beer. They gave me a hard time about the game and I told them to **** off and go back to their ****hole state. It's nice to work at a place that supports that type of behavior.

Harry Potter *clap, clap, clap-clap-clap*, Harry Potter *clap, clap, clap-clap-clap*

I'm fired up and ready to go today.

has anyone here gone to the Keg East? How hard is it to get tickets? I would love to get a loud and rowdy group in that place.

Probably impossible to get tickets.

well not impossible.

Samantha Ryan is a porn star whose film titles include Absolute Ass 3,Crack Her Jack 4 and Lick Between The Lines . Before she took up the sex film profession, Ryan attended the University of Kansas and is a big Jayhawks fan as a result.Last night, Kansas hosted in-state rivals Kansas State in a matchup of the No. 2- and No. 5-ranked teams in the nation, and the game just happened to fall on Ryan's 32nd birthday. Naturally, she wanted to attend -- and fortunately found a connection who could secure her tickets.Kansas assistant coach Kurtis Townsend evidently came through for her, as Ryan tweeted an encouraging note: "So excited for my floor seats at the KU/KSU game! Coach Townsend kicks major ass!" Today, she added a "big thanks you know who for gettin me the tix from Coach T!"

I've been wondering that too. The Swan's family is only a couple of hours from Lawrence. The only concern I have is the bail money that would need to be raised if I was ever in a place with that many assholes at one time.

Doesn´t CU get an allocation?

Hate it listening to a few thousand do that rockchalk crap. Not sure I could stand it listening to 16k+ doing it. :shot:

It's not 'hard' to get tickets. You just have to pay 50-80 bucks per seat. Usually on the lower end for non-conference games that aren't marquee (like ku vs osu last year). Wouldn't be hard to get a bunch of Buff fans together to go to the game... just more expensive then typical road non-conference games

I think it's a great move for the program. I hate KU in basketball more then any other team, but I think we can match up with them pretty well. Both have some good returning players (Travis Releford, Elijah Johnson, Jeff Wihtey for KU; Andre Roberson, Askia Booker, Spencer Dimwiddie for us). Both have top 25 2012 classes (Andrew White, Perry Ellis, Ben McElmore (RS) for KU; Xavier Johnson, Josh Scott, Wesley Gordon for us).

Not going to say that we will win or anything, but it could be a very competitive game.

How much does it generally take if you come to Sackygate?

I'm liking this move. Bohn needs to take the C Unit on a road trip next season and make it a double bonus or however it works.

Back in the day when both the Kansas and CU women were good, to not sit in the end zone in Lawrence, you had to get a player comp. At least the player tickets were behind our bench, unlike in Knoxville, TN, where we were seated in the top row around the venue.

I went to the last game at the phog. Cost us $70 each for general admission. sat at the top in the corner. There isn't really a bad seat in the place when it comes to watching the game.

This is excellent news that we got a home/home from this. The RPI boost will obviously be fantastic, and we are due to have some bounces go our way and get a long-awaited victory over these mother****ers
