Build Rick George a Statue (was #fireRickGeorge)

We were on the brink of losing a seat at the table with realignment. It looks like that seat was saved. RG was a member of the team that saved it. Could be dumb luck. But I think we were really close to going into the dustbin of irrelevance. Thank god the team realized the importance of it.

We were definitely close to losing that seat. Now what's the plan for making sure CU is never in that place again?

Contract runs through June 30, 2026...about 15 months away. There were two things that RG needed to do before that day were extending Coach Prime and the west side project. Once that second item gets announced and construction is under way, there's not much else RG needs to do...except show off the latest CU themed Nike sneakers.
I think he would like to be part of the success that should/will come over the next 3-5 years under Prime.

Credit where credit is due. Locking up Prime was a good job by RG.
Also, one of the reasons CU was able to get a conversation going with Coach Prime in the first place was CU’s (and RG’s) commitment to considering and hiring black head coaches. Doing the right thing doesn’t always pay off, but sometimes the right person notices you did.

I could care less about the rest of the AD job responsibilities, frankly. I don’t have to sit in meetings or worry about finances. RG got Coach Prime here. That has changed CU for the better going forward, almost across the board,
