Starting this week, no more need to pay attention to the bogus media and coach polls we play around with.

CFP ranks come out at 5pm MT on Tuesday (Halloween).

What's your Top 4 (playoff selection) for the first week of the poll?

I've got:

1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Miami
4. Wisconsin

Alabama
Georgia
Miami
Ohio State

Not Wisconsin fault, but they've had the easiest schedule known to man kind, thus-far.

1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Miami
4. Ohio State - I think they get the nod after that comeback against Pedo State.

Having a hard time with the 4 spot.

1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Miami (still think they're a year or two away.)
4. Notre Dame (That was hard to write. **** them.)

Don’t care about schedule. If you’re an undefeated Power 5 team after 9 weeks, you deserve to be in the CFP.

1. Bama
2. UGA
3. Miami
4. Wisconsin

I think the exact opposite. Who you have played is going to factor in a lot more early than later (schedules tend to even out at the end of the year).

As long as you’re telling me that an undefeated Wisconsin team would make it in over a one loss ND, Clemson, Penn State, etc at the end of the season, then I’m fine with them being snubbed early.

No question.

Overranking teams based purely on record has a domino effect, especially if chaos ensues.

4. Notre Dame

5. Ohio State
6. Miami
7. Penn State
8. Wisconsin
9. Oklahoma
10. Oklahoma State
11. TCU
12. Washington

I get that if you feel like the argument of "if that team with a loss had played the undefeated team's schedule, then it would be undefeated too". But you can't do that with Clemson because they lost to Syracuse. I think you can make a better argument for Ohio State or Oklahoma or Notre Dame or TCU or Penn State than you can for Clemson if we're talking about the one loss teams.

I am looking at the wins as well though. Clemson has as good a resume as anyone when it comes to who they have beaten.

Alabama
Georgia
Ohio State
Iowa State (already beat 2 top 5 teams, gonna shock the world and win the 2018 national title)

Wisconsin gets in if they win out, right?
Be tough. They need Michigan to avoid a stumble against Minnesota or Maryland the next couple weeks. Otherwise, Wisconsin will go the entire season without playing a single ranked opponent. It would be hard to reward that over a 1-loss team that has played half its schedule against ranked opponents.

Hard to think that they won't win the Big Ten without beating a top 10 if not top 5 team in the Big Ten championship game.

A 13-0 P5 champion coming off of a win over a top 5 or 10 team in their title game would be very hard to exclude.

Would you take them over a 1-loss Notre Dame that has wins at Miami, Stanford and Michigan State along with home wins over USC and NC State? Only loss a nail biter at home against Georgia early in the season?

How about if Miami loses that Notre Dame game but beats VA Tech and then the ACC champ is the winner of an 11-1 matchup between Clemson and Miami?

What about a 12-1 Big 12 Champ in Oklahoma which dominated Ohio State on the road?

What if Alabama or Georgia loses to Auburn but then wins the SEC Championship over the other?

I have trouble taking Wisconsin over any of those teams if those scenarios play out. Also Penn State if it ended up in the same position as Ohio State did last year by not playing in the B10 Championship but being 11-1 with a 1pt loss over an excellent team and a lot of quality wins.

Winning out, including the B1G championship game against Ohio State (possibly Penn State) would put Wisconsin in without a question.

I'm trying to paint a specific scenario where I leave 13-0 Wisconsin out, but the problem is that if you start making enough 1-loss teams to put in front of them then Wisconsin's clean record looks even better.
