Just incredible that Frost found a way to lose to this man and this team.
Yeah, probably, but it’s also hard to blame the guy for lashing out a bit. Obviously don’t make it a habit like Frost does, but calling out the players in the media does have its place, even in college football.Setting up a “my recruits” vs “the last guys recruits” storyline. Divided locker room in 3, 2, 1….
I don’t think it does. If the players suck, the world can see that. But your job as a coach is to coach them up the best you can, create schemes that use their strengths and hide their weaknesses the best you can, and recruit better players as fast as you can. You can encourage the low performing players to transfer and bring in as many replacement transfer players as you can find. I fail to see how belittling them in the media is going to help him in the short or long run. If this was the NFL I would think differently.Yeah, probably, but it’s also hard to blame the guy for lashing out a bit. Calling out the players' effort or attitude has a place, but saying none of them can play is ridiculous. You can't **** on Frost and then defend Beilema.Yeah, probably, but it’s also hard to blame the guy for lashing out a bit. NFL coaches rarely go that hard on players in the media. That was way over the line by BielemaI don’t think it does. If the players suck, the world can see that. He may feel like he needs to change over the entire team but with scholarship limits and competition for recruits he is going to have to rely on a good number of the existing guys over the next few years.Calling out the players' effort or attitude has a place, but saying none of them can play is ridiculous. Also, "As a Head Coach, you're only as good as your roster".... Soooo what does Bielema bring to the table? What a ****ing turd
I’m pretty sure I can.Calling out the players' effort or attitude has a place, but saying none of them can play is ridiculous. You can't **** on Frost and then defend Beilema.
Do you feel better now?I’m pretty sure I can.
Not really, but Frost still sucks and I still don’t really care one way or the other about Bielema.Do you feel better now?

Calling it now, the Illini looking for a coach after the 2023 season.
Surely your opinion of the topic at hand is consistent regardless of who said itNot really, but Frost still sucks and I still don’t really care one way or the other about Bielema.

Simple answer is, it doesn't help, it only hurts. I definitely agree with the selfish part on his behalf.I appreciate honesty, but I'm not sure how it helps to announce that the guys on the roster aren't physically capable of performing no matter how hard they try, how hard they train, or how well they respond to coaching. Unless he's trying to free up scholarships by causing transfers, I don't see anything here that would benefit the program- only a selfish attempt to take some heat off himself

Yeah, the whole thing comes off as weak.I actually have no problem with coaches telling players they aren't good enough and they no longer have a scholarship, but that's a closed door conversation with the player, not something a coach should be spouting off in public to the media. Again, this was a bush league move from Bielema, but he's a jackass so it doesn't surprise me
That @Utah is the only tough game left on their schedule. The only thing I can think is that Ohio St has the "better loss". That and no one respects the Pac 12 right now for good reason. Can someone explain to me how Ohio State is projected to be a 50/50 for the CFP (by The Athletic) at 6-1 with 0 wins over a ranked team this year, meanwhile Oregon is 6-1 coming off a road victory over a ranked opponent and actually beat OSU in Columbus, but has just a 2.9% chance to make the playoff?
WTF am I missing here?
So head-to-head means nothing? Lets say both teams finish the year 11-1 (OSU won't), I don't see how you could possibly put OSU in over Oregon. That would be crazy. That @Utah is the only tough game left on their schedule. The only thing I can think is that Ohio St has the "better loss". I'm not arguing with you. But no one really takes the Pac seriously right now. They're a really bad football conference. So head-to-head means nothing? Lets say both teams finish the year 11-1 (OSU won't), I don't see how you could possibly put OSU in over Oregon. That would be crazy.
Ohio State has games against #20 Penn State, #6 Michigan (at UM) and #8 Michigan State remaining, and then likely against a top 10-15 Iowa team in the B1G CG. OSU will almost assuredly be favored in all of those games, so I imagine it's just based on them having the much better resume if they finish 12-1. Obviously, their 1 loss is to Oregon, but Oregon's loss was to unranked Stanford.

To answer your question, yes. All the hypotheticals we use to determine who should go to the CFP are a function of a lot of the top teams not playing head-to-head. My belief is that if both teams have the same record, and they played each other that season, you give the nod to whoever won that matchup.Ohio State has games against #20 Penn State, #6 Michigan (at UM) and #8 Michigan State remaining, and then likely against a top 10-15 Iowa team in the B1G CG. Would anyone here truly believe that Oregon is deserving of the CFP spot over tOSU if they both finish 12-1 and are conference Champs?
However, I think both Oregon and Ohio State can get in, but it would require Oklahoma to lose, which I think is likely against either Baylor, ISU or Oklahoma State.
the committee has four criteria to consider, none specified to weigh more heavily than any of the others. To answer your question, yes.
