College Football News, Rumor & Humor

Some of this might be true but I have a hard time believing that they can find P5 teams to schedule. You really think notre dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, Clemson, Texas, etc. are not willing to sign a home and home? They consistently do that exact same thing.

Oh and maybe if you switched to 9 league games it wouldn’t be as hard lol

They've got home and homes with Texas and Notre Dame already-but unless Saban thinks South Florida is a power 5 school, they don't have a year where they're playing 2 OOC games against P5 competition. I'd bet they gave USF a home and home just because they're in a major city that Alabama considers a priority area for recruiting-but can you see them under Saban playing here? I don't. I think they'd want us in Dallas or Tuscaloosa if RG called.

Recruited to GA by HCMT

247 has HCMT as the secondary recruiter with Dell McGee as the primary. I'd assume that Tucker had a ton to do with this one since McGee, while being an ace recruiter, is still a RB coach and this is an OLB.

Hopefully MT has a great relationship and the word he gets from UGA is that Cox just needs a change of scenery (which can sometimes also mean getting away from the home town & those distractions).

Schooler was a 2 time 1st team all conference...gunner, and perhaps the worst starting WR in the conference. Hopefully it's addition by subtraction at WR and something that the special teams unit can absorb. His hair will be missed for a few weeks, regardless.

Such a freaking joke. There's no question it's the best conference, but good grief do they get that deck stacked. They play the fewest road games, the fewest games against other P5 programs, they travel the least. blargh.

Seems to be changing (finally). Many more home and homes with other conferences on the horizon.

They've been brilliant with scheduling big early season conference games and then the effective 2nd bye weeks against FCS opponents in November. The overrated team that loses that early season in conference game is still used to prop up the winner, and while Oregon, a team I hate(ahem), was playing Utah on the road 11/10 last year, Alabama was hosting The Citadel. That ish ain't an accident. It's strategy developed over decades by boosters and the powers that be to keep the rich rich.

If there is one team that can’t complain about Alabama’s schedule last year it’s oregon, their OOC was a joke.

Balls.

  • BRENTON COXDL, FLORIDA GATORS

247Sports' Blake Alderman reports that former Georgia sophomore DE Brenton Cox has transferred to Florida.
Monster get for the Gators, here. Cox (6'4/245) initially joined Georgia as a five-star recruit and went on to play in 13-of-14 contests as a true freshman, recording 20 tackles, a sack and three passes defensed in that space. He waited until late to hit the transfer portal, entering at the beginning of the week. Per Alderman, Cox is set to practice with the Gators on Friday, having already officially enrolled at the university. Barring a late waiver, Cox will not be eligible to play this fall.

I've been hearing this all day, should Kelly Bryant get a National Title Ring? Me, I say no. What say you?

How are you a mate on a team when you leave after 4 games, and then they finish it off without you? Not saying you're wrong, it doesn't make sense to me, though. Sounds pretty damn self centered. If he thought he get a better opportunity, sure, go get it. Still doesn't deserve a ring, imo, when you bounce like that.

agree. a guy who loses the QB1 job and then sees how he can contribute the rest of the season by showing up, setting an example as a TEAM guy, and being ready to play.....that guy deserves a ring. of the playoff teams, ND and Bama both played two QB's for whatever reasons during the season at crucial times. Hurts against UGA and Ian Book lost the starting job to Wimbush to open the year....but came on to play well when Wimbush struggled. now, it's Book's job.
