College Football News, Rumor & Humor

I'm starting to come around to the possibility that UGA made a decent hire with that guy.
He’s obviously an elite coach, but the best thing that school did was buy into his vision and understanding of what Saban built at Alabama from a recruiting infrastructure standpoint, provide him the unlimited resources to implement it, and get the hell out of the way.

Oh, and just being the flagship university in the heart of the most talent rich region state and region in the country.

One on the left is George Clooney’s mom. One on the right has an unnatural waistline.
Yeah, that was the running in-movie convo. I had NO clue what was going on until the third time I watched it. Then I was like that lady WAS way too skinny. I haven’t watched it since, for fear that I’d feel like watching Hallmark channel movies…

Kirby was also very smart by creating a close friendship with Brad Akins. Mr. Akins has been very generous to the UGA program.

It feels like he’s NFL bound. Been rumored for years and I wonder if he’s finally had enough of the college game
Why would anyone want him in the NFL? He's a good recruiter, but still has won nothing in CFB. He won't have that benefit in the league. Weird. The fans are right, this was one of the worse coaching seasons I've witnessed, Jimbo aside.

He’s the premier QB evaluator and developer in college football and has run one of the best offenses year in, year out. That’s why an NFL owner/GM would want him. This year might have taken the shine off him a little, but if you can get a QB to play well, you’ll be in demand

Really? Kingsbury part two?

It's not like Riley found diamonds in the rough.
2-7 at USC against ranked teams. That's bad.

There's no question that he's mentored great QBs, but I'd argue they were mostly a product of the air-raid system, which he's run very very well.
Once he got the first heisman, he was a magnet for great talent.

Caleb Williams I consider a generational talent.

But as a head coach, I had questions about his system when at OU and the 2 years at USC have not improved my opinion. Yes, they were vastly improved in year 1, but they were pretty loaded with talent and they still are, even more so. But they are not a good team.

I even question whether his past QBs ho-hum success in the NFL isn't just proof that it was a system, but it's not a system I think will work in the league, see Kingsbury. It's just my opinion, but GMs should look for far more success than some QBs who won the Heisman in my opinion.

Again, it’s all the Dr Pepper Fansville Superstition episode with Caleb Williams.

Rosemary Clooney is George Clooney's maternal aunt, but the family resemblance is strong.

Vera-Ellen was naturally tiny (estimated to weigh around 95-105 lbs around the time of filming), but there were/are rampant rumors of her having an eating disorder. Her friends/family dispute this, although her waist was reportedly measured to be 17 inches (!). Relatedly, there were also rumors were that her neck was so emaciated from her disorder that in White Christmas they designed all of her costumes to cover her neck. That seems to be pretty conclusively disproved by pictures of her afterwards, but it is odd.

The talk from so many people about the portal this year is consistently this... It's going to be wild

Elko gonna have fun in College Station with unlimited moneys.
It's time to make a move if he's going to leave. The way things are at places like Duke (how Cutcliffe & MacIntyre functioned), is that you build toward a year with a veteran team that has great chemistry and a bit of NFL talent. Then there are some lean years that follow. Also, even the good teams wear down as the season progresses, the lack of depth is exposed, and those conference opponents who have been out recruiting you see their young talent come on the 2nd half of the season.

This was his vet Duke team.

And on this note, I don't know that this is even a viable P5 program model any more with NIL. Problem with it is that when your guys show they can play as freshmen, sophomores or juniors they now get recruited into the portal if you can't pay them market value.
