I think the Edwards tunnel screen might have scored with how much room was open in the middlePlayer mistakes always have dramatic effects in close games. The dude was wide open and dropped a perfectly thrown ball that hit him in the hands.

This isn’t even a question if we don’t have a drop on a routine ball.
I think there’s some of that for sure, but the coaches also put our terrible OL in positions to fail time and time again.I think the coaches put the players in many positions to succeed and the players didn’t make the plays that were needed.
I guess that is is more on Prime if what he believes is guiding the OC'sSo is it on the OC, whomever it is, or Prime for the lack of protection on SS? I'm confused.
or was it Hankerson who fell down on the outlet throw from Shedeur with zero Beaver defenders within 15 yards of him? That was a more pivotal play because it created a second and long when it should’ve been an explosive play.I think the Edwards tunnel screen might have scored with how much room was open in the middle
CP explained and acknowledged that it was wrong in his halftime interview.Gee ... who could have possibly forseen that we would lose by the 7 points we essentially gave them with the absolutely unfathonable play calling at the end of the first half?
I would really like for Shurmur, Lewis, or Prime to explain that strategy, whoever was responsible for it.
Osweller was right when he was addressing this. We put our inferior o line on an island with no chipping or extra blockers.I think there’s some of that for sure, but the coaches also put our terrible OL in positions to fail time and time again.
I guess. You can’t max protect every down. The OL has to be responsible to not just be turnstiles.I think there’s some of that for sure, but the coaches also put our terrible OL in positions to fail time and time again.
All it is with him is a run up the middle or flare in the flat. Where did that little shotgun pitch play go? What about the wheel routes when he’s matched up on a LB like the one in TCU?If our coaches can't figure out how to get Dylan Edwards in space then he really doesn't need to be on the field. It's infuriating the lack of imagination they have with him.
Even the announcers were saying to run the ball and get out of the half. Everyone could see it. There was no point to try and score, which is what they were doing.Easy to say in hindsight. You'd expect your WR to to make a routine catch that a guy off the street could make.
I expect nothing other than stupidity from you, so this reply makes sense. The player dropped what would’ve been an easy completion and possibly a first down. It’s not like our run blocking is good. There are just as many bad things that can happen since we’re incapable of running when the other team expects us to run. It‘s stupidity plain and simple to not call three running plays near your goal line to get out of the half only down 7-3. The CU offense was remarkably bad in the first half, making the idea of passing near your goal line even dumber.
Wishing that into existence isn’t going to make it happen, though. You know Tank sucks. You know your Guards are awful. There has to be something done to help them. Part of the problem is they never brought in an in-line TE.I guess. You can’t max protect every down. The OL has to be responsible to not just be turnstiles.
There is zero motion to create mismatches, no misdirection, no one pulling. It seems to be stupidly simple yet our oline is lost or there's a Wr running a wrong route. All it is with him is a run up the middle or flare in the flat. Where did that little shotgun pitch play go? What about the wheel routes when he’s matched up on a LB like the one in TCU?
There’s just nothing being run and executed now that worked well to start the year
it’s not about wishing. You cannot run offense max protecting every down. You have to expect the players to do their jobs.Wishing that into existence isn’t going to make it happen, though. You know Tank sucks. You know your Guards are awful. There has to be something done to help them. Part of the problem is they never brought in an in-line TE.
You're right.Even the announcers were saying to run the ball and get out of the half. Everyone could see it. There was no point to try and score, which is what they were doing.
OSU has been building this style of team for years now. Sure, they aren’t stacked with talent, but they have been doing the same thing, same plays, same schemes for years. That matters. They have built to #16 in the country on solid play and schemes they have recruited to, without any superstars. It is a tragic blend of both
I put more on the coaches, but the players are not making plays and making things worse
Oregon State is not that brilliant of a team, but they do not cause losses, they prevent them
We have a staff that causes losses

CU has made big steps forward, but you can’t snap your fingers and go from historically worst to beating ranked teams in a year, no matter the coach or number of transfers brought it.
This was always going to be a process. And we are still IN these games (except Oregon). It’s hard, no doubt, especially because of the PTSD of decades of pain.
We are pretty much where I thought we’d be. Having a harder time as the year goes on, as good teams get film on us. In fact, our depth has held up better than I thought, except the OL.
I didn’t watch the 2nd half and saw the final score. After thinking about it, here’s my realistic take- I feel like my expectations were just too high too soon. We’re lucky to have coach prime but he needs time. He’s not a magician or a miracle worker. So gotta be patient. He’s taking us to greatness.I expect nothing other than stupidity from you, so this reply makes sense. The player dropped what would’ve been an easy completion and possibly a first down. Yes. Compared to last year, we’re way ahead. We gotta bring in the guys to fill holes in O-line. Or coach up the guys here now.We really are a handful of players and a couple of coaches away from this being pretty damn good team.
I was at the game. Nobody would have touched him if he caught that ball. It would have changed everything.I think the Edwards tunnel screen might have scored with how much room was open in the middle
College football is about players. You can win 70-80% of games just by having better players. Coaching enters the mix when you either have two equivalent talent levels or the personnel is suited to a very specific style emphasized by the program.I didn’t watch the 2nd half and saw the final score. Just really comes down to needing to 1) recruit and 2) coach. We know coach prime can recruit really well so that’s covered. Gotta think he is building an elite roster but it will take time. As for coaching, seems like we have to trust Coach Prime to evaluate who he thinks he needs to replace and let him do it. I don’t think he’s going to settle for mediocrity. If he sees something needs to happen, he will do it.
This is a great post and appreciate it, given the frustration of tonight. I was hopeful for a win, realistic though as a longshot being a two TD dog but that first half ending is what just infuriates me. We are already at a disadvantage, and you can't give the better team an upper hand.OSU has been building this style of team for years now. That play happened fast and I missed it. Was it a drop or a bad throw?I was at the game. Nobody would have touched him if he caught that ball. It would have changed everything.
I think it was both. I remember Edwards reaching up, and I wondered if it was a bit behind him. They didn't replay it in the stadium, so I couldn't see. What I could see was essentially 11 OSU players on the west side of the field and Edwards cutting across in the opposite direction. With his speed, nobody would have come close. That play happened fast and I missed it. Was it a drop or a bad throw?
We'll get this thing rolling and 2024……
You still go pick up your QB and help him off. It’s your damn job. They aren't P5 pass protectors. They definitely aren't G5 run blockers either.
