Colorado's Greg Brown Out? (EB moved to the sidelines)

Wouldn't they just promote someone from within the coaching staff? (Cabral)

Question is - who coaches the DB's?

Or would Brown simply be demoted to just a position coach?
 
I hope the **CK that it is CU. I would be impressed if Embree and Bohn had the nuts to make that move. If they make it before Saturday I am changing my plans and driving with my son to WSU game just to show my support even though we are sure to get spanked and I will still be depressed after it.

But if he has the nads to get rid of him, I hope he would do the same with Marshall. Our most experienced unit just sucks completely. No excuse for that-and as others have said his recruiting hasn't been good either.
 
I thought you were suggesting everybody wears brown to the next game to show support for the defense.
 
So long as he doesn't get a multi year contract so our new HC can hand pick his own d coordinator.
 
This won't be CU. It will be one of the other PAC schools that cares about football and is pissed because they gave up 18 points to someone and only won by 20.
 
Who else could it be? What other P12 D gives up points like a Colfax streetwalker gives it up on Saturday night?

no doubt brown needs to be shown the door. embree needs to do the same with his buddy eb, that would show some real balls. it's one thing to fire brown, another to step up and fire your best friend, who is equally incomptent. i think their both good postion coaches but way in over their heads as dc/oc, so i would be ok with a demotion to them just being postion coaches.

I think the lack of offensive production is much more concerning than the defense. At least the defense had been decent from time to time. The offense has been offensive for years now.

If it was another program, it would certainly show our group up as spineless. No program in the nation needs a bigger change than we do. 69 points is ridiculous even by playstation standards.

Ya, but EB is locked in. Brown is not. I can see why they won't bring in a new OL coach mid stream... not that a whole new DC isn't a big deal :wow:. Wonder why no Cabral?

The defense gave up 35 in one quarter, allowed two 90+ yard plays, and gave up 55 in the first half. That's really concerning.
 
Move Cabral to DC, elevate Sykes to Interim Asst. LB coach, give DB's a copy of "Playing Defensive Back for Dummies" so they can coach themselves and let the season ride out. Can it be any worse?
 
It doesn't say they are hunting for a new DC right now, but that they "may be hunting" for a new DC.

I agree - but for the past two years the offense has averaged about 200 yards per game. That's gotta be concerning too.

The fact that Bieniemy has a multiyear deal might be the difference.

...and the offense gave up as many points as it scored. Both are really bad.
 
I wouldn't get excited folks. Even if this happens, Embree will make Kanavis DC. Need true Buffs in the highest positions.
 
I can't think of another school in the PAC who D coordinator would be on the block.

This has to be Brown. Right?
 
I guess I would be encouraged that they recognize a problem and are trying to fix it, but I don't want this to be an excuse to give this staff more time to right the ship. What quality DC in their right mind would want to jump in to this situation?

Not denying that.

Our D should not be this bad though, we all knew that the offense wasn't going to be good. Both are extremely concerning, but to me defense is more.

I'm thinking that is exactly what a move like this would represent.
 
Have to think this would put us back in business for 8 or 9 wins this season if true

Honestly embree's only hope is to get a real DC and OC.
 
Correction, I guess it could be Wazzu's DC, they we're pretty bad vs. UNLV, but they made these crazy things called HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS.
