CSU game boycotters

I love when posters accuse other posters of being bad fans when we are all on a website devoted to one of the worst college football teams in the country over the last 8 years. No regular poster here is a bad fan. Their ideas might seem extreme but we all have our experiences at Invesco good and bad.

Especially one with 25 total posts.

I always thought Junction was multiple posters posing as one. No person could possibly post that much. Has to be like 10-12 guys, right?

I think due to its proximity to Utah, porn is banned in Grand Junction. Can you imagine?

From a post by Left Hand Buff on the Rivals board:

Either school can opt out of the contract with the Denver Metro Sports Commission after 2014 if sponsorship revenues dip below $250K annually (between 2011 and 2014). What's more, the Denver Sports Commission can drop this whole thing after the 2014 if attendance doesn't average 80% capacity over that same time period. In other words, when the money dries up for this series in Denver, the plug can be pulled.

Seems like the best way to torpedo this game is not to boycott it, but for every CU season ticket holder to find some other CU fans - those who are looking to go to the game and would buy additional seats directly through CU - and either give them the tickets or at least sell them at a price to undercut the full ticket price paid to CU. Giving tickets away might be a problem in that those would would have sat at home might come out... but sell them at say 1/2 price to other CU fans that don't have tickets and are going no matter what? That would drive sales down by undercutting the CU athletic department price.

Only other option is to give up season tickets, but that sucks since obviously people here like going to games at Folsom.

Not entirely related, but Cal fans are getting pretty upset about the possibility the Big Game is moved to the 49ers new stadium in Santa Clara for 2014. It wouldn't exactly be a lost home game since the game would be played @ Berkeley in 2015, but it would be a lost year in terms of tradition... and it would be at a 'neutral' site that is 40 miles away from Cal, but 15 away from Palo Alto. Lots of similar talk about whether not going to the game would really send a message, or just hurt the team with the lack of support.

I don't know, bear. That's a pretty good idea. Are you sure you didn't steal it from a Stanford grad?

Are you afraid that with the proximity the Standford contingent will number in the dozens, rather than just the tens?

I think we don't want to financially hurt CU any more than they hurt themselves.

That was more or less directed at Jobuff.

I did not say you were a bad fan. What I am saying is that not going for the sake of moving the game back does little for cu as a program. If they were top 25 teams, the venue would not be used as an excuse. You are an adult my buff brother, you do what you want. I was just expressing my opinion and predicting that the "boycotters" will be here asking for details they could have gotten if they went to the game.

Go Buffs

25 posts...........yep but guess what? I am a BuffClub member, I am going to the game, and I will not use the venue as an excuse. If you want to take shots at me for the number of posts, go ahead but you will not see the number of my posts get much bigger on Sunday because I don't want to just discuss the game on this board...I want to live it.\
Go Buffs!

I'd imagine you'll be asking me for details that I could see on TV. You're welcome in advance.

What I do not get is if you are a season ticket holder, have tickets, and don't go.

Well...you got me good, then. Enjoy the game. Go Buffs!

That is what is all about brother.... 42 -17 Buffs! "The Silence of the Lambs" will take place early 4th qtr when the game is out of hand and the lamb fans are all quiet leaving the stadium.

Have you ever paid money to go see the buffs get humiliated on the road.
Did you find it akward when the team quit last year and you didn't.

you went to the UW game two years ago in Seattle, right? That was a sad waste of $200 bucks.

I know this is off topic but my lady friend whose also a student wants to get a ticket for the CSU game because thats one of the few games she can go to because she works. Because she works so much, she is not getting the student pass. Do any of you know if they sell single game student tickets for the CSU game?

It's reached bizarre-o land since 2009 when you go on the road. My few times 2009 and onwards I've been getting the strangest looks, especially when it becomes apparent through conversation that I travelled enormous distances. I'll be sitting this football season out, but come 2014 I'll either finally get to see a road win in person at UMass or be utterly humiliated beyond belief.

That said, I'll never forget in 1999 when I saw South Carolina at NC State. South Carolina was absolutely horrendous, they went winless on the season. Yet the highway was clogged with Gamecock fans and they took effectively took over NCSU's stadium. South Carolina didn't score a single point in that game and this was before NCSU was anything decent under Rivers. I think they sold out every home game that year. If they didn't, they came close. I've had respect for them ever since.
