But I thought they were going to get a Big 12 invite!Someone on ramnation posted that CSU is last in donations and revenue in the MWC. Ouch.

Along with that much needed expansion of Hughes to 50k. The shrub planting "facility upgrade" this year was just the first stage.
They're on the 10 year plan - in 10 years, trees will be big enough for the luxury tree house suites.
fify.Making improvements at Hughes Stadium is like putting lipstick on a lamb.
If they ever actually got a full house, even with it being a small stadium access would be a nightmare, bathrooms are inadequete, concessions are on the level of a good high school facility.
I don't have anything against CSU, I did my masters program there and wish them well but they lack the financial resources to compete effectively on a BCS level. They have talked for years about marketing efforts, working donors, etc. and they still average less than 24k per home game, even at cheap ticket prices.
They, along with a lot of their mid-major bretheren have this fanatasy about some court case or legislation turning college football into a big socialist cooperative and them getting millions from the AQ conferences and schools, ain't going to happen.
I often think that CSU would be much better off dropping down to the FCS level where they would have a real chance to be competitive and win, even with the budgets they would have. They would lose the whopping 1.5 - 2 million they get from the MWC and attendance would drop some but that would be more than made up for in significantly lower cost of operation.
The months-long project, which started in the spring, includes hundreds of trees and shrubs, improved walkways, an 18-hole disc golf course and a new gate that should help ease traffic congestion.
Was traffic congestion really that much of an issue?
No Wally, the gate is so they can let the livestock out to make room for parking. That was a real issue. Was traffic congestion really that much of an issue?
I know they'll never do it, but what CSU really ought to consider is moving the stadium back on campus. There's a ton of open ground just South of the main campus that they could use. Hughes is an embarassment. Talk about a disaster. That school's athletic department is a series of one bad decision followed up by 10 more equally bad decisions.
I will leave no gate behind!
Well, I can think of one, actually. Where is she, these days?
I was on the other site yesterday (hey when the wife, allbuffs in this case, doesn't put out you need something. Even if it is a crack head hooker. Amirite denny neagle?) Anyways she is over there and says that she is way too old for us over here.
Is she over 35? If so, then she's right.

I thought she had to be excited?fify
So I have purposefully ignored this thread forever - but I had to come in and see exactly what facilities upgrade generated 10 pages worth of responses.
I saw the slideshow, but I can't tell exactly what facilities were upgraded.
Did they build a parking lot? Is that what is being called a facility upgrade?
