You don’t get the head coach job at oregon and Florida state with no talent. Even if those jobs didn’t work out, something led to you getting the opportunity
What is that “something”? He had two good years at USF, then was hired to Oregon where they had probably one of their worst years in decades, then FSU the next year, where they were atrocious, then off to FAU, where, again, not good.

I don't understand what's so hard about this. He's coming here as an analyst, not as a head coach. I'd share your concern if he was coming here as the latter.

He’s an analyst. Saban collects bad head coaches like beanie babies. It’s a winning strategy. All HCs are good at something but get promoted beyond their ability. Using them as analysts or position coaches is pure upside
