CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Things I can't wait to see-

1) How long this deal ends up being.
2) What does GOR look like
3) Will there be unequal revenue sharing ( I highly doubt this)

As long as tier 1 games are on ESPN and the $$ is close to the BIG12 then I'm fine.
I still think the PAC is on life support. The moment Oregon and Washington bolt it's all over as we know it.
 
Another leading indicator that the Pac-10/12 is announcing a good media deal next week is that the Arizona 247 thread on the B12 has come to a grinding halt and their ring leader has quit fighting the good fight.

No worries NOW. This re-alignment circus will happen again for sure in 2029 when the BIG10's GOR comes up for renewal.
Maybe by then Colorado can be a part of the conversation. Will have to probably see at least 2 or 3 PAC Championships
and 3-4 entries into the playoffs with proof that eyes love to watch Colorado on their tv sets.

Must hope that the new Big10 Comish doesn't lure Oregon and Washington sooner.

I want CU to continue to be a P5 school for athletics and I’d like to see the football games offered on some form of visual media.

Ultimately I think those things are not well served long term by PAC membership. If WA and OR bolt it becomes a **** show.

The outgoing B10 commissioner tried his hardest to get Ore/Wash into the B10 and the school presidents shut it down. This isn't a commissioner issue and everyone know it, but keep the fear alive.

I believe the poster means that the other B1G presidents shut it down, not UofO and UW presidents.

That’s why the doom and gloom about those too schools is a little misguided I think. If they had a better option they would have taken it- they need to be offered it. No reason for the B1G to do that right now

Point being ....the PAC is not for long the way we want it to be.
Let's hope the BIG10 waits till 2029-2030. Any earlier most likely won't be good. Buffs need time to build their resume.
 
The reason that you see so much public relations from the Big 12, and Big 12 fans coming out of the woodwork, is that the Big 12 schools are pretty much locked in for life. Most are 2nd fiddle (Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati) or 3rd/4th fiddle (UCF, Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech) or Kansas State. They have no options, now or in the future. None are getting an invite ever to the big show. Grabbing some PAC 12 schools is a life line for them, although the odd circumstances and poor maneuvering by the PAC 12 make it seem like the opposite.

Not like that collection of teams without any really history or brand spread out across some of the smallest markets in the nation.

I'm not sure what happens to the Pac, and I acknowledge the impact that Fox Sports and ESPN have made in the SEC and BIG. But to assume that - even without USC and UCLA - the Pac doesn't have potential long-term viability is weird to me.

Just as a memory, TCU went to the finals of the football playoffs this year and Baylor won the hoops championship in 2021. Cincy went to the semis in the football playoffs very recently. The B12 isn’t exactly chopped liver…..

All I am distinguishing is the group that has no options with the group that may have options.

The PAC will be viable as long as Oregon and Washington stick around.
