Greetings Buff fans.

Rossi vs. Sanford. Sanford vs. Rossi. That is what I am going to be watching. Sanford has this major issue: When the first option is covered, the offense is basically nullified. That's with Notre Dame. That's with Minnesota. That's everywhere he's been. Minnesota is 2nd in the nation in defense....granted, they have been playing Mullen high school, but you get my drift. They are talented. Colorado will be by far the best talent they have seen as of yet.

Now, the rushing defense of Colorado....that's a major issue because Minnesota can pass this year. Which will lead to massive chunk plays. Think Minnesota 2019 when they finished in the top 15 and beat up Auburn.

I see the game about 38-10. Something like that.

I am 45 years old, and I can remember Colorado in their hayday. I hope someday they get back to that. Man, the Buffs were great.

38-10? You're giving us too much credit.

So you are saying you don't respect CU's pass defense either, that's allowing 73 yards a game and completely shut down Air Forces passing attack?

I have way too much money on Minnesota at -27.5 for that to happen

Appreciate the comments. You’ll be watching Sanford vs Rossi. Most of us here won’t be watching. Any of it. At all. Enjoy the tasty cupcake.

Gophs score much more than 38. Too Minnesota nice of you. Otherwise spot on.

The NCAA has opened an investigation against Minnesota for fan abuse for the consecutive scheduling of 3 hopelessly inept cupcakes.

NCAA spokesperson Dortmund McGorkland has told the press only that "we expect a member institution to offer its fans at least one OOC game in which a visiting opponent might have a chance of being competitive for at least the first half. The Gopher program has failed in this regard and sanctions are on the table."

Working a JV volleyball tournament at Colorado Academy that will probably be more interesting than this mess. The more ugly it gets, the more likely Karl goes.

Thinking about an Oklahoma-Minnesota parlay.

A CA reference?! We are a powerhouse in girls field hockey and lacrosse

You're not bad in volleyball and your boys program was legit last year. No idea what you guys have coming back.

Great people in charge up there too. Would love to land there.

FPI has Minny as having a 94.8% chance of winning. This is just slightly less than Ohio State's chance of beating Toledo (97.4%).
I honestly can't even see that CU has a 5.2% change to win. I just don't see it.

Billy Hall might be the best AD in the state. Absolutely gets it
He's up there for me. I deal with their assistant AD a lot when I'm there-Jon Hill. Same deal with Jon.

Would love to land there FT as a teacher.

Across more sophisticated prediction models, when you’re running 100K or 1 million simulations, there are a limited number of outlier scenarios where a confluence of insane things happen, which typically end up in the 4-8% range…

1) the underdog’s key players on both sides of the ball perform far above expectation; 2) the favorites lose all starters and all backups from key positions and players from other positions fill-in; 3) the underdog’s defense recovers numerous turnovers in favorable territory/scores defensive TDs; 4) the underdog’s special teams unit runs back 1-2 kicks for TDs and create turnovers deep in opposing territory/scores TDs.

Makes sense. I do the same thing with litigation estimates, although in a far more simplistic way. Sometimes it just aint your day.

One thing models don’t account for (at least not yet) is the psyche of the players. Colorado player psyche has to be very fragile atm and not well supported by the current crop of coaches. The best prediction models can account for possible but unlikely/less likely statistically measurable outcomes. Even the best models cannot predict players quitting.
