CU Rival In The Big 12

That's definitely a possibility, I also think it's a possibility that in the next 5 years the expanded CFP and the oversized conferences end up proving that 3rd place SEC/B1G < 2nd place Big XII/ACC.
Maybe, but you’re talking about some premier programs as SEC3/B1G3 and I think it’s unlikely that a 10-2 Kansas State is truly better than a 9-3 LSU or Michigan (for example).

I think in 2024 there will still be a sentiment among the committee that Big 12 programs are still “power” programs and that a P4 exists to an extent. There will still be preferential treatment to B1G and SEC of course, but there are like 5-6 Big 12 teams in almost every preseason Top 25. That probably doesn’t last beyond 2024
We'll finally have some postseason match matchups, with full rosters, to sort out some conference hierarchy.

Btw, part of this is the idea that FSU, Clemson, UNC and a couple other ACC programs break from the ACC and join the P2. That’s probably when the charade of a P4 truly ends

Yeah, I think those premier programs in "down" years are a tossup vs good programs having really good years.

2029 is the next non con opening, with Florida and CSU scheduled.

I never want to see two P4 teams plus the wildly stupid in state rivalry game in the same non con.

Last year was a bit lucky to come out 3-0, and it was exhausting.
I'm not advocating that. What I'd advocate as far as the future scheduling is this:

Get them back on the schedule after 2030. They can take the place of North Texas, for example-We don't need to play a Texas G5 home and home as a Big 12 member. We get to play in Texas at least once a year IIRC, and I think we play at Oklahoma State at some point. Stillwater is easy for a recruit from Dallas-Fort Worth to get to-I went to a couple of games when we played in that league. That drive might be four and a half hours from Dallas-Fort Worth.

I'm assuming that 2029 opening probably becomes UNC-they're close and they're god awful.
