CU to hire SJSU´s Mike MacIntyre

Not sure how I feel about this yet with all the talk I've seen on the board about him. What he has done is impressive though.
 
The first thing he needs to do when he gets to Boulder is to drive 20 miles south on Colorado 93 to Golden and sign up Bob Stitt as OC...

Not as sexy a name as Mullen or some of the others that have come up the last couple days, but I like the choice...
 
To be honest I'm happy about the move after Butch said no. He fits our profile.

God forbid we usher one Coach Mac out for a new one! Lol

Fine with me. #1 recruiter in the WAC, uses the same strength & conditioning program as Stanford (never liked the fact we had the strength coach from the worst NFL team in history), built up a program from nothing and in doing so identified a legit QB.
 
Solid hire. I'm excited and would be even more excited if I wasn't so gun shy from the last few years of misery. I look forward to seeing what his staff will look like and also what he can manage on the recruiting trail. Good luck to him!!
 
Now comes the even more important part - the coaching staff. Need some names, and no that does not include Stitt.
 
I think "fit" wise this is better then BJ would have been, Now can he swing a couple SJSU commits this way, like the 4* WR that commited yesterday ?

Agreed. I applaud them for going for the best guys available. MacIntyre is a solid hire with good West Coast ties. I see a lot of parallels between him and the previous Mac/Boyle hire where they weren't the sexiest hire and weren't the first choice.

I think he comes into a very good situation in that even modest improvement will be easy to come by as well as build on.
 
I have to say I am not overly thrilled with this hire, but it could be a whole lot worse. I liked to see the admin took some big steps in showing a serious commitment to football by throwing around some huge numbers and some big improvements. Let hope that he can take our current talent and get us competitive with teams like Stanford like he did at SJSU. Honestly that was the biggest disappointment for me with embree. It wasn't really the losses, just how huge those losses were. Hope we pay somewhere around $1.5Mil and can throw some big money at coordinators and assemble a legit staff. Welcome to the new Coach Mac.
 
I like the hire. Now the question is staff? How much for the staff? Facilities?
