I don't think the problem is necessarily defending screens as much as it is trying to get to the qb, not getting there, trying again, failing again, and then desperately trying to get to him only to have a screen thrown.

If the D was getting to the qb without having to be desperate about it, they could have the awareness to stop the screens.
 
I've said it before, but we have no pass rushers and it's going to really hurt us. Sent 5 on that PI play and DTR didn't even have to move a step in the pocket.
