CU @ Utah Game Thread (11/25, 8PM on FS1)

It will be interesting to see what the P12 picks for that afternoon slot. It will most likely be a choice of:

8-3 or 7-4 Arizona vs 6-5 ASU
Or
5-6 CU vs 5-6 Utah

You could make a strong argument that the CU/Utah game is more compelling because both teams are in a “playoff game”.

That said, I am fully expecting we end up in the 8pm PT slot on FS1. Why would anything go right at this point in the season?

I predicted 6 wins to start the season. Hoping the guys can deliver and get bowl eligible

Living on the east coast, the late games really suck. In general, football should be played in the daytime. It is better for everyone involved. I would love to see the time where a team gets only 2 regular season late games one home and one away. Everything else at least starts under the sun. My wish.

I understand the economics of it all and TVs influence on game times. Just frustrating.

I'll be watching at 0100 Sunday morning... hoping that my interest is paid off!

Was going to be one of my roadies this season. Not happening. That late start, coupled with lots going on in my personal life at this time. Those that do go? Cheer loud, GO BUFFS!!

Looks like they were deleted...

Tweets are still there. Looks like it might be an AllBuffs issue. I can't see any tweets on the page. In any case, Howell tweeted:

"HC Mike MacIntyre said WR Shay Fields - who left Saturday’s game with concussion symptoms - is doing well and progressing."

"HC Mike MacIntyre still hopeful that S Ryan Moeller will return for the Utah game on Nov. 25. Said Moeller looks a lot better today than last week."

We're on a bye and Utah plays UDub. Advantage CU
Yep. That's a physical matchup for them against a team that has to be pissed off at their performance last week.

I'd really hate it if the situation was reversed.

Good thing it's a late game so they have more time to recover! Checkmate, old people.

You do? That's teams in the top 25 only btw.
We’ve beaten 1 team with a winning record (CSU) and another that is 5-5 (Cal). Every team that has beaten us is .500 or better.

We suck, but the differential between us and some of those lower top 25 teams isn’t as bad as I thought.

I’m confused. Because we beat one team with a winning record, and UW beat one team with a winning record, that somehow makes us similar to UW?

...These Buffs deserve a bowl game...
...Holding on to the ball would have made all the difference this season.
Odd observations IMO. Why is a bowl game “deserved” with an arguably underachieving season? If we beat Utah, we earned it and deserve it. If not, we don’t. No confirmation yet that we ‘deserve’ a bowl game.

And turnovers? Of course everyone would like fewer, and fewer might have made a difference, but we’ve been ok with turnovers, averaging a little over 1 a game, and virtually identical to what we’ve received from opponents.

I think you missed the part about “we suck”, but it appears the difference between sucking and slightly above average may not be as great as I thought.

Conversely, we lost last week and Notre Dame also lost last week. We are the same as Notre Dame, whoo

Oh great, Shay will be back, good for him. That means we can put that bum Juwann Winfree back on the bench!!!
5 Catches, 163 Yards, 32.6 Yard Average, 79 Yard Longest Catch, 2 Touchdowns

For me it's do or die time for MacIntyre. It might sound crude, but I'm tired of the b*ll****. Put up or shut up! get us to a bowl game for two consecutive years and we'll talk about the future.

5-7 is pathetic. 7-6 looks a hell of a lot better. We all expected a drop-off after last year, but not even going 6-6 is inexcusable.

Beat Utah and let's go bowling. We will recruit better and lay a foundation for something good at this university.

You are pretty spot on, but, what if it was better for staff shakeup if they lost. Now, I never, ever, ever want them to lose and I scream like hell during games for them to win, BUT if they lose to Utah and do not have bowl practices (which are very important), then the desire and ability to analyze and change up the staff can happen sooner, and the pursuit of new assistants can happen sooner, and the focus on what I think will be a good 2018, and an amazing 2019 can begin. I think that we could have a PAC 12 Championship team in 2019 with the right coaching changes. The best thing we could have is a bowl trip this year, AND the necessary coaching changes to make the future brighter. But, what if after we beat Utah, they have bowl practices, and then we look pretty good in a low end bowl game and Mac says that the staff is really coming together and there will be no changes, because like you said, 7-6 looks OK?
