Dal Ward Center Expansion

First off, let me preface this by saying that any expansion to the Dal Ward Center is a long way off....that said, lets get to dreaming!!!

How cool Would it be to have the DWC expanded to enclose the entire North End? I'd assume that that the only way you can expand their is to go to the East and West and expand by 50,000-70,000 SF feet total. A slight renovation to the NE and NW corners too, to get them on more of a horse shoe would greatly increase the site lines from down there. I suspect you could get some more luxury suites/club level seats in as well. This is probably at least 3-5 years away from having the funds to do it, but man they could do some really cool things when they expand the DWC.

i have always wanted our stadium finished. i always thought that that end should be curved back to meet dal ward and enclose the stadium.

that would be sweet.
 
I saw Hawk's statements, in the paper, regarding that. Its his dream as well. The one thing I would like to see would be a new, up to date field house with an indoor track, pool, etc.
 
i'd like the north end closed up and built around dal ward....

WE as fans need to start filling it regularly in order for any of this to happen. buy a extra ticket or two, a couple times a year and bring some friends who normally wouldn't go...i did this with one of my friends a few years ago and she became a season ticket holder. :thumbsup:
 
So who is CU's equivalent of T. Boone? Anschutz is a KU alum, Sam Walton's niece's husband (Kronke) is MU, well there's gotta be someone out there!?!

Isn't Tom Shane an alum? I swear they said that at graduation...but that was a long time ago and I was not exactly sober.

He's quite wealthy. He does not believe in debt, so all his stores (and all his inventory) are owned free and clear. Little bro went to Creek with Tom's son. I know Tom was looking for a private jet a few years ago. I have no idea if he ever bought it, though.
 
Marsico is probably the deepest pocketed alum I can think of. He's got a nice G450 (or might be a GIV-SP, not 100% sure on that - like any of you ****ers know the difference anyway:smile2:) and his own hangar over at Centennial, among other things.

A billion in cash goes a long way...

Although the Bechtel dude, if he's still alive, is worth some serious coin.
 
Pretty much all of the Coors boys (and girls, too) went to CU. There was a bunch of them there when I was there.

Probably the richest alumni at this point are Trey Parker and Matt Stone. And they're such irreverant asswipes that I doubt they'd be convinced to give any of their money to the school. I use the term "irreverant asswipe" as a term of endearment, btw. :lol: I suppose that if they did donate, it would be to help finance a film school or expansion of the performing arts school.

Rumors abound that the expansion to the events center is being financed in whole or in large part by Chauncey Billups. If true, I roundly applaud his generosity and Mike Bohn's persistence.
 
Did Stone and Parker ever graduate or did they drop out before they got their degree?
 
I'm torn about having the north end fully enclosed, part of what makes Folsom so cool is the views from the south stands. I like seeing the big pine trees on the north east corner, but I would also like a first class facility with Ralphie tunnels.

I believe Stone graduated, Parker didn't. I'm pretty sure that one of them did get his degree and I'm pretty sure it was Matt Stone.

They just signed a big ass deal with Comedy Central, btw. Worth tens of millions of dollars. :wow:

Went to Creek and CU with Bob Bechtel, not sure if he was Stephen's son though.
 
Neil Diamond's daughter graduated with me in '01. He sang at graduation. I know he's got some funds. (btw, I was not a young college student at graduation)
 
the vickers clan could throw some money into the kitty to help amend the late 70's-early 80's debacle...
