Dear Mike Bohn:

I'm not even sure that will do anything. It all depends on the admin and big $ alum. If both are not willing to do what it takes, then CU could just end up like Kansas or Northwestern or Indiana or Duke or etc. Many people that count don't see crappy football as the end of the world. Go to a KU game. They don't really care that much about winning or losing. It's the event, the atmosphere, something to do on a fall Sat.

That statement is simply not true. People who buy season tickets want to see a good product on the field. Kansas didn't pay Turner Gill $6 million to go away because they "don't care that much about winning or losing." Kansas may be a basketball school, but they still average 40,000 per home game.

By the way, Kansas fired Turner Gill after two (2) seasons. Kansas went 2-10 in their 2nd season under Gill.

And Northwestern has been to four (4) straight bowl games. They are 7-2 this year.

Indiana and Duke sell season tickets. My point is that unless you have an admin and big $ donors who want to do what it takes, then you can easily end up a bottom feeder, which is what those schools have been over the longer term. Yes, it can always change if the admin and big $ are willing to make that change. But the idea that putting a losing product on the field and having sparce attendance will drive change is not a given, not at all. Many schools are happy with crappy programs.

If this thing does not get righted over the next few years I would hope Larry Scott would have a heart to heart with the powers. If BB and PS continue to show no interest in the program he might remind them that they were not admitted in the PAC to just collect a fat paycheck with no investment in the team.

Don't kid yourself. If CU manages to win an NCAA Men's cross country championship or skiing championship, that adds to the overall chache of the "League of Champions". Scott eats that stuff up. He loves it, and rightfully so. If we deliver a national championship or two in some minor sports, he'll be perfecty fine with us collecting the fat paycheck.

Kansas State was a bottom feeder, too. Do you think it was the admin and big $ donors who made the change? Or do you think it was Bill Snyder?

And CU hasn't ever been a school with big $ donors. They certainly didn't have big $ facilities. How on earth did McCartney get things done?

Haven't you heard? He was given 4 years to start showing progress, which is all Embree needs to succeed....
