I think a July/February scenario would balance the two signing periods numbers wise. Some kids would like signing early to take the pressure off and give themselves some injury insurance. Other kids would prefer to see how the school’s recruiting them perform and assure themselves that the staff will still be there when they begin their career.
For the coaches, it’d allow them to focus on the season a bit more and/or maybe start focusing on the following years class. It’d allow them to sign kids at the end of the spring evaluation period while the school is still fresh in their minds.
