I know we're on iffy ground with the Post, but this was too good to not pass along.

Readers were able to send in questions to Embree. I loved his responses! Just about every time I read something from Embree I like the choice more and more.

For the uniform junkies:
I can tell you this: we will be white with black pants on the road and black with gold pants at home. We won't be white on white on the road anymore. The uniform will have a clean look and players will have their names on the back.

On special teams, we will get our best players out there, it's not just playing bodies. You will see a significant amount of starters out there. That's an important part of the game, you often win or lose games there. We will have a special teams coach.

Not true. Jimmy Smith and Jalil both played on most if not all ST's units. Among others...

i could have lived with the white/white (hated the gold pant, looked like Ga Tech)....only in September in a hot place, like Austin or the deep South with the stated proviso that it was for the heat vs. the black pant. that said, i'm a total zealot for the black pant, white jersey, gold helmet look.

love the comment about special teams.

More than anything else in that Q&A, this nugget is the best news Buff fans could have hoped for. The traditional location for an OC is in the booth. EB's fire and zeal on the sideline are HUGE! That's where we want him.

I think an OC gets a better feel for the game on the sidelines, plenty of guys in the booth to give EB the birds eye view.
 
I understand why lots of people are obsessed with the white on black look.

But, isn't the black on black home uni the best??

I like any of the home unis. Black on black is sweet, black on gold is sweet, and I'm also a big fan of black on white pants. Not sure I've ever seen CU use them, but they sure look good in NCAA 11.
 
Black on black is a gimmick. We shouldn't need gimmicks. I hate it. Just go and play football. None of this garbage with the uniforms.

Home = Black jerseys, gold pants.
Away = White jerseys, black pants.

Sorry Sacky you are incorrect. I like the black on black a lot, as do many other Buffs whose opinions are as valid as yours. 62-36 was black on black. I think it should only be used for special occasions, but definitely not a gimmick.

Phew, I had been waiting for someone to reopen this..I like the black on black.
 
Eddie Crowder disaproves of black on black. I've never liked it. I never will like it. It looks like a high school outfit. It all started when Mac thought the team needed a boost for a game against Nebraska in 1987. We got our asses kicked in that game, but it didn't matter, the black on black kept coming back every year. Guh. It's a gimmick. We don't need gimmicks. I know I said that already, but it bears repeating.

Gold helmet, black jersey, gold pant, black shoes. Perfect balance.
