Can someone explain to me why Donovan Lee and "big play ability" seem to be synonymous? BTW, NJ Falo is the freshman to watch IMO.

Speed... Had a big play the 2nd time he touched the ball last year, but was fairly quiet after that. I think the key word here is ability, or even potential.

Considering the lack of proven depth at OLB/DE he could certainly get the chance to shine early.

Seemed like he was only on the field when he was getting a screen or jet sweep hand off. Defense keyed on him whenever he stepped on the field.

The issue IMO was that it became obvious that the ball was going to Donovan every time he was on the field, so defenses were able to key in on him. As he becomes a bigger part of the offense, I think you'll see that big play ability start to show up more.
 
Lee and Ross had similar true frosh years. Playing time was due to little other choices and neither showed any playmaking ability. They did show that they were not very tall. Jury out on both for me.
 
Watching the Buffs for the past couple of years has me scared of Slot Receiver as the "one to watch". Our QBs haven't been able to check off of a receivers so we typically ended up with only one receiver a year worth mentioning. When McKnight was here, he was the only one getting passes. When it was the Richardson ('13)/Spruce ('14) we only had the long pass. I'm just afraid that if we have a "threat" in the slot, it will ALWAYS go there and and our deep threat will be abandoned. You know, just using history as my prognostication. I'm hoping Sefo will be able to check off his receivers and utilize them all in the most effective manner.
