Fiesta Bowl Florida vs Lousiville

Louisville came out and smacked Florida in the mouth and the Gators never seemed to get their mojo back. I enjoyed the game. There have been several pretty good games - usually I don't have a rooting interest so I can sit back and enjoy. Nebraska vs Georgia game was good, ditto for the So. Carolina - Michigan game, Northwestern - Miss. St., Stanford - Wisc. Usually the Bowl games are not very good but there have been some very enjoyable ones.

I expect some more good ones in the next few days...Alabama and ND should be interesting. I want to see if ND can stop the Tide's running backs.

Year 1: 7-6
Year 2: 11-2

Currently has the 1 ranked recruiting class by ESPN and in top 5 in the others. Clearly over his head......

Right cause Florida has never had top recruiting classes before. Great job coaching them up tho in the Sugar Muschamp. Only a 15 point favorite in the game.

Coach loses BCS bowl game = coach is a failure

Some sound football logic there. I guess Muschamp is the only favorite ever to lose a BCS game?

If you want to discuss Willingham and Weis we could but I think history has shown that they were bad coaches.

Umm, yeah. And that was the proposition that you were trying to counter with an argument about recruiting class ranking, which I guess you now agree is irrelevant. Only history will verify Muschamp coaching ability, too. I felt they were ranked too high all season, and this year's bowl game certainly didn't do anything to prove me wrong.

1) Recruiting classes are important but a coach can either coach them up or coach them down. Willingham and Weis certainly did not coach them up to their potential.

2) I don't feel they were ranked too high. You are what your record says you are. I do think they were playing above their talent. Maybe not defensively as that side is full of NFL players but certainly offensively. I think the fact they they were able to navigate the regular season with one loss with that offense probably points to a damn good coaching job.

So you've dropped one argument, and the other is just a bad opinion, based on the results of the bowl game. Thanks for the clarifications.

I didn't drop the arguement. It is important to be able to recruit as it is the lifeblood of the program. So far Muschamp has proven he can recruit which is step 1 for a coach. The next couple years will fully show if he can coach them which is step 2. If he can do both he will be successful if he can't he will be like Willlingham and Weis.

And I never mentioned the bowl game? In fact my whole opinion in point two covered the regular season?

Dude. Your original argument for Muschamp was based on recruiting, which you then discounted for other "bad" coaches. You have now officially entered the category of whatever, so I'm done here.

My main argument was his two year record you decided to focus on my recruiting comment.

See....you did.

Your comprehension through this whole debate has been a giant fail. But whatever I am out as well.
