SALT LAKE CITY -- Washington dominated Utah in the second half in an 31-14 victory.
The loss stung the Utes, who were playing their first Pac-12 home game. But almost as bad is the shoulder injury to quarterback Jordan Wynn.
The Utes, who trailed just 10-7 at the half, face a critical South Division matchup with Arizona State on Saturday. It's hard to imagine them winning the game without Wynn. Backup Jon Hays is inexperienced and limited as a passer. And an 0-3 start to conference likely dooms their chances at a division title.
Washington, which is off next week and plays host to Colorado on Sept. 24, improves to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in Pac-12 play. Utah falls to 2-2 and 0-2 in conference play.
Running back Chris Polk and quarterback Keith Price led the Huskies effort, while the UW defense was in control with Wynn out.
Much more to come.
