Game(s) Thread- Women's b-ball in Seattle for Pac 12 tourney- 2nd round vs. Oreg., Fri.,12:30 MT

It looks like there is a third post-season tourney for WBB ... the Women's Basketball Invitational. It's a 16 team tourney and doesn't seem to have the .500 or better record requirement that the WNIT has. Does anyone have any idea if the Buffs would accept an invitation if they were to get one?? Some level of post-season win-or-go-home tourney action, against teams other than the PAC-12, might be beneficial for this team.
I took a look at the WBI brackets for the past 5 years. They've never had a power conference program in the tournament other than Xavier one year. I suppose that Xavier gives precedent as a Big East program, but this looks doubtful to me.

No idea if the Buffs are interested, but they should accept as it would give this young team more practice time and hopefully a number of games.

WBI selection process: http://womensbasketballinvitational.com/selection_process/Section_Process It appears teams had to have been on the WBI "watch list" which began back in January.

From wikipedia:
"The field for the WBI consists of a 16-team, single elimination divided into two regions with 8 seeded teams in each.[1] Teams are picked based on RPI, record, conference standings, end of year performance, and quality wins and losses.[2]
Teams in the WBI compete on the home court of the higher seed. The championship game is hosted by the team with the higher RPI. Teams not making the NCAA Tournament or WNIT are eligible for the WBI."

Looks like Minnesota was the champ in 2012 so we have at least one P5 team playing in it. Also looks like Washington played in it in 2010.

Not looking for details (and I have none), but is Bunn permanently gone?

Oregon looks like the real deal this season - could go to the Final Four. And they should be great for the next several seasons.

Agree but a solid post is going to be tough to get this late for next year. Maybe we get lucky with a graduate transfer or a player from overseas. I think we start Mya at the post and Jank at the 4. We will have Kennedy and Lexi as the guards obviously.
Well, in the last few days we have announcements of 2 international 4* 2018 post players committing : Dorka Juhasz from Hungary to Ohio State and Darcy Rees from Australia to UW. Hopefully the Buffs coaches are still out there working to get a good post player here in the 2018 class. They must know that's a blatant need.
