GAME THREAD - Buffs vs. Bulldogs | Nov. 13th @6pm | Pac-12 Network

My thoughts:
  1. Drake is a pretty good team. We just rolled them.
  2. The Buffs bench has talent.
  3. We had better work on free throws for the next month.
  4. I am sad because if this team had Walton, we should be the most excited about this team since Chauncey. Maybe we should be anyway.

Drake is well coached but they aren't close to us or to the teams in our league athletically. Most of the first half they made us work by playing very hard and being fundamentally sound. They also kept it competitive by hitting a high percentage of their shots including from three and we missed a lot of shot including free throws.

When Drake got tired, and our bench hurried that process, they the shots stopped dropping and their feet slowed down on defense. Then the route was on.

Agree about Walton, very few teams can match up with a guy his size who has his mobility and leaping ability. We are going to struggle now against athletic big men.
 
Assuming Dombek is redshirting given he didn't see the floor at all. Was he dressed or in street clothes? I didn't notice.
 
drake is unathletic but works hard and appears to be well coached...but they would finish 14th in the pac 12.....very very sparse crowd....i know its drake and a misc tuesday but that was sad

Maybe the Mines scrimmage scared everyone away.
 
This is going to be a fun team to watch. A lot of new pieces and a couple not playing so there is some upside. They started slow and then just oil over athletically. This team will win quite a few games this year. High hopes

I don't know man...Drake didn't look good, and they're projected to be near the bottom of their league. We were supposed to roll them, and we did; good to see. I was happy to see our core players play well, and I was happy that Kountz and Parquet don't suck. It was generally hard though to make real conclusions on the team bc Drake sucks. Fun night though!
