Game thread- MEN'S BBALL ends non-conference play hosting Southern Utah (Wednesday, 12/21/22, 5:00 PM MT; Pac-12 Mountain)

Well the program is never going to take another step until he starts valuing offense.
I'm not sure playing Quincy means 'valuing offense'. In the few minutes he's played, he's badly air-balled a 3 and looked completely lost on offense except when the ball is in his hands (and even then, lost at times).

Well done by TDS there switching blocks with Hadley after things had gotten chippy on the first FT.

Yeah because he's not engaged. He's a guy that only gives a **** when the lights are on, and playing mop up minutes ain't gonna bring any intensity out of him.

Missed the game but so good to see ruffin with nearly as many minutes as Hammond and more than both wright and gabiddon

his 3 wasn’t falling tonight but he has a lethal pull up jumper. not the best scorer on the team, but maybe the best shooter

nice to see Nique have a (fairly quiet) good game. would love for him to do that against P5 competition

Tad totally has started valuing offense. He’s pushed the pace more than he ever has with transition offense, out of bounds plays are night and day improved from when he first started. A lot less end of shot clock heaves and plays by our point guard. Ball movement has improved I can go on and on.

We heard on the radio (on the rough drive home - such poor visibility!) that Gabbidon was up until 5 a.m. last night puking due to food poisoning. I was wondering why we didn't see much of him on the court past halftime (apparently he started puking again during halftime). Poor guy.

It was nice to see the Tad love, post-game. Most people had left by then.

:puke:

Tad is a wonderful man.
Best part of his speech, "I've never been more excited about CU basketball than I am now."
Would have been nice to have a full house.
I hope someone can find and post the video with former players.

Top 4 in the Pac, BB and FB next year.

Go Buffs!

I really like watching this team compete, but it's a Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde type of team. I don't see us dancing. I figure our ceiling is .500 in conference play and around 19 wins max (including P12 tourney). Next year is a totally different story, however.

The inconsistency we've seen this season makes me think this will be another NIT year. But I also think the 23-24 team could be the best of the Tad era, with Cody Williams joining a senior TDS and a junior KJ. Lots to look forward to.

Finish with 20+ wins. Dance and advance.

We've got too many holes to be a real threat to win the P12, P12T, or get to the 2nd weekend of NCAAT.

False. While I don't predict it, this team is capable of winning the P12 tournament. They are sort of unbeatable if they hit 50% or more of their threes. Ask A&M.

random thought: we should play around with having TDS bring the ball up the court more

also, inclined to agree that our ceiling is .500 in conference play. doesn't help that we're starting the new year in an 0-2 hole
