Game thread- WBB visit CSU (Wednesday, 12/6, 7:00 PM)

Watched the last minute or so of the first half and the entire of the second. Loved the play at the end of the first half where Robinson began to drive and Jank cut to the basket where she received a pass for a layup.

In the third quarter CU was able to open up a double-digit lead that they would be able to hold and perhaps expand going into the fourth. They were playing their tempo and just looked more athletic and poised. Things changed quickly in the fourth as CSU changed their defense to go with something like a combo of a 2-3 and 1-3-1 zone. They were able to use this to prevent Kennedy from driving and limit Jank's touches. Needles to say, this was very effective as the Buffs scored a total of seven points. I believe more if not all of this points came via free throws. Thankfully they were making them.

Still like the way this team is coming together.

According to RealTimeRPI the Buffs are currently #30. CSU is #198. Dartmouth is #199.

Buffs should go undefeated the rest of the non-conference schedule (Dartmouth, Air Force, Westminster).

Agree. They need to close out this preseason so to speak with 3 more wins. Can't have a repeat of last year's Wyoming game. After that, we really need to improve our conference record from 5-13 by at least 2-3 wins to show improvement. I do think this team is better than last year's team

Buffs seemed to be looking for Jank in the 4th quarter as opposed to looking for a good shot. CSU had the Buffs very well scouted and were hitting their 3's.

Excellent point. It would have been a great time for Robinson to get more involved, etc.

What is it about Jank and 3rd quarters? She seems to be a dominant player during that time.

Jank is just an excellent basketball player. The kid can hoop and she's as good as advertised.
