Games this weekend 12/8-12/9

Career long FG in the snow coming up, not sure if that's what I would've settle for if I was Navy.

Wow ... 21 years since Army had won the CIC Trophy. Didn't realize it had been that long.

Bama doesn’t deserve to be there. I say the P5 champs get an auto bid an 1-3 at large. Unfortunately w that scenario Bama would be in...damn them!!!

There's a great 1996 book written by John Feinstein called "A Civil War: Army vs Navy", which details both teams' 1995 football seasons, culminating with the big game. An excellent read.

Was pulling for Army just because of how long it has been since they won the CIC and because I have some pretty smug Navy guys around me who thought this was a lock.

Service academy football is one of the good things about being a sports fan and it is better when all three of the academies are competitive with each other.

95 rushes and 3 passes in this game. Amazing

And one of the passes was on a trick play.

Lots of fun to watch two teams doing something completely different than almost everyone else, and doing it well.

Those backs were getting rocked though, lots of hard hitting. Both teams play this game in a way that shows it matters to them.

I went to a Navy-AFA in Colorado Springs once and that was one of the best games I went to. I can root for just CU and the service academies.

This is the 5th time in the last 9 years that a Stanford player has finished second in the Heisman voting

That's crazy.

On the other hand, saying that they've sent a guy to NY that many times is still a pretty cool thing to be able to tell a recruit.
