Games Thread- #8 Women's bball on the road to face #22 Utah (Fri., 2/16/24, 6:00 PM MT), #10 USC (Fri., 2/23, 8:00 PM MT) & #9 UCLA (Mon., 7:00 PM MT)

CU's mental toughness will be challenged in these two games and they absolutely need to be in it from the start rather than waiting till the fourth quarter.

These two games could go a long way to determining whether or not the Buffs finish in the top four in conference play and also what seed they get in the NCAA tourney.
 
I watched part of the Utah-UCLA game. UCLA is very, very good and Betts is tall.

So Juju tonight and Betts on Monday.
 
2 great matchups that we know we can win. With lots at stake.
Ideal situation for the team and the fans.

Buffs hanging tough, but it's USC with a 3 point lead (19-22) after the 1st period, with their star Watkins already with 15.
(There must be theatrical agents at the game, as the officials have decided they want to be NOTICED, and have already called 2 fouls on 3 separate Buff guards (Wetta (both within the 1st minute of the game), Formann and Sadler).)
 
This is some terrible **** by these refs
Watkins is good, but she is a freshman and does not get a free ride. There were at least 3-4 And 1 fouls not called and we got foul trouble everywhere
Come on refs, call it fair

43-47 USC at the half, with 3 pointers raining in from both teams. (USC is 10-12 from beyond the arc, while the Buffs used some great shooting themselves late to score the last 9 points of the quarter, and are 5-6 from 3 overall.)

They have to cool off in the 2nd half, "they" being USC
 
Our 3 point shooters need to be more comfortable shooting from farther out. Set higher and harder solid screens and get them open to shoot.
Inside-Out
We can do this
 
USC played lights out, hit freaking every shot, and won the game, but no bench points, lots of favorable calls at key moments.
Worse crowd in the league by far, really sporty bunch, good luck at Rutgers next year
