Get your hot cocoa and peppermint Schnapps

That has to rank as one of the 2 or 3 coldest football games I've ever attended.

yep, I was at that one too, this one wont be that cold, but still cold.

WHat are some of the coldest buff games you've been to at Folsom? I remember the '91 CU/NU game, '92 CU/KU game where they had to plow the field every qtr (you could not see yard lines or anything!), '96 CU/KSU game was freezing too.

That 91 game really stands out. I remember a Bronco game back in 72 or something against the Bolts, high was in the single digits, it was brutal.

I'm looking forward to a cold game. I love breaking out the cold weather gear and tailgating in the cold. As long as you're dressed appropriately, they're fun as hell. If not, they can be miserable.

who do you think has the advantage in the game? I'm worried about Hugh's fumbilitis if his hands are cold, but then again, if it's snowy or windy, that would take away from NU's passing attack and the edge you woudl think would go to CU's rushing offense.

I think weather won't be the deciding factor in this one. Although the team that runs the ball better probably wins.

I agree, dress appropriately, fun as hell!!!!!!!

Something my buddies invented a couple of years ago. You drop a shot of goldschlager into a buffalo gold beer and chug. About as horrible as it sounds, but still the most awesome drink ever when your yelling and taking it at the sink before the game.

I've never been to a game at Folsom, but the Big XII Championship game last year was cold as hell!!! :wow:I think the temp. at kickoff was like 13 or something?

This game will probably be in the low 20s at kickoff. Forecast as of this morning is an overnight low of 14 and a high of 32. 20% chance of snow. 10am kickoff...

cold is good for us the worse the weather the better we cant hold our own in a pass happy shoot out, and NU's run defence sucks

OK - here is a conundrum for you all:

Several years ago - as a gift mind you - I got a very nice Mountain Hardware GoreTex ski shell, which I use with a thin fleece jacket underneath to create very cosy and warm protection against the harsh winter elements. All my other winter coats are either fleece (little or no wind protection) or wool overcoats (business style).

The problem, you ask? That shell is black and red! Thus it is off the table

Mind you, I own only one other piece of red clothing - a shirt that I never wear.

I'm thinking 4 layers: polypro long underwear top, wool or fleece sweater, fleece jacket and the #42 Buffs Jersey. If its windy, I'm hosed.

i have been hoping it would be a cold game, not sure why, other than i have not been to one in a few years. coldest or snowiest game i went to was in 2000 - iowa state.

Don't forget your eggnog with cinnamon schnapps either
Guaranteed to stir up that old holiday spirit

it was. amazing, it was totally bearable with the right gear on.
bearable bs...3 inches of ice on the bleachers and a tie game result. Thank gawd I had a keg at my apartment so I could bear the pain of the defrost. That game left permanent scars...
