The first one is obviously a shot put holder, so I'm guessing it goes with some track and field meet. I am a little mystified by the spittoon in the second pic, though.... :huh:

Funny you say that, because the first picture is the soccer World Cup prize. It used to be that if you won the World Cup 3 times, you got to keep it. Brazil did that, and it got stolen and probably melted for the gold in it. It's never been seen since (this was in the 70s). The one in the picture is the new one, not the melted one.
So maybe we should start checking gold-colored hubcaps for traces of a soccer trophy!
