P5 non-conference matchup.
Ungodly 11AM start time, but a lot of tickets have already been sold. You'll see a lot of families at this one.
The early kick will hurt student turnout, but remember they're season ticket holders so they'll be counted even if they're not there.

50,002. Wait! This isn’t The Price is Right, is it?

Ticket sales 48,500. Turnstile count at kickoff 38,000. Turnstile count by halftime 45,000.
I'll say that a turnstile count just 3500 below the announced number would be somewhere close to a modern record. Especially now that there are 14,000 student sports passes instead of 12,000. We had the largest student attendance "ever" (I don't know how far back that goes) against UNC and that was 11,500 - so there's a minimum 2500 difference right there. It was really eye opening for me to see that the Utah game in 2016 had roughly 45,000 scans, because that's about as packed as Folsom gets (Nebraska 2019 was probably more but I don't have those numbers).

I didn't know that the scanned number at that Utah game was only 45,000. I would have guessed we were damn near capacity, that's crazy.

used to be during big games the students had to stand sideways to fit. Folsom also fit more people back in the day.

is turnstile count published somewhere or you have inside info?

Gonna have to throw this one out as it's higher than the all-time record at Folsom which was set when there were 3500 more seats
well, color me stupid -- I've had it in my head for a long while that Folsom capacity was 60k. no idea where I got that.

thanks

So that game was over thanksgiving break and that definitely impacted student attendance to a degree. It was the second biggest of the year behind the Thursday night UCLA game. It for sure would have been the biggest without break. There's "full" and then there's really packed when it comes to student section density. I believe about 2500 student sports pass holders didn't scan in for that game, so that's a piece of the discrepancy right there. Also, starting in 2015 they changed section 110 from being student section to general public. So that's probably 1500 extra ticket sales without reducing the number of student tickets counted either. I wish I had the data for Nebraska two years ago to see how much that Utah number was beaten by, but I'm somewhat skeptical that capacity is really 50k after the removal of those sections for the champions center and turning the north bleachers into the touchdown club in 2014. I wouldn't be shocked if it's 48-49k and they just like the ring of 50k better.
