Guess the Attendance: Washington State

Help me understand the student section. (And my kid is one of them).
She has a "sports pass" which means she just scans her ID at the gate and gets into the game. Then it's general admission for them in that area.
A bunch of students may be gone already for the school break. But CU can't sell all those seats without knowing who is and isn't there.

So if students don't show, because of the break, the section will not be full. Correct?

In the past CU has taken the risk of overselling.

But I am not aware of CU ever selling "GA" tickets, other than the student sports pass. So how would CU oversell so that people can sit in that area. Every ticket they sell, as far as I know, has a dedicated seat location on it.

For example they would just take back the seats in section 112 from the student section and sell them like normal tickets.

In 2013-14, over winter break, they made all students who were going to be at the basketball games claim their tickets in advance so they could sell the rest of the student section to the general public. They haven't taken any steps like that for these games. However, they did ask in an email which games (if either) we would be at over break. I haven't seen any tickets made available in the student section on the CU website, so at this point it looks like they're just hoping enough students will show up that it won't look too bad. Maybe it would be a different story if they had sold out all their existing tickets, but they haven't. Honestly I think they're missing a huge opportunity to sell tickets in the end zone for $40 and make more money while making the stadium look better on TV.

Good question. It's never been an issue lately for late November games.

Not bad, but still a lot of work to do. A number of sections are getting down to under 10 seats left, though.

I really don't get where Howell got that number from. This is currently better than any game we've had so far this year with four days to go.
Make sure you are getting the message to students that they need to be here on Saturday.

Can anyone explain why sections keep going from unavailable to available? Green dots are disappearing and reappearing. Just found it odd.

Season ticket holder exchange....can still exchange a ticket for the Utah game, and those immediately show up as available for purchase in sections that were not previously available prior to exchange
