Whats the Tide going to do in the next couple of days?? Heard Saban leaves Bama for Austin to coach the Longhorns after Mack retires this weekend once the Baylor/Texas game is over.....

I've heard the same. Apparently Texas is a destination coaching job. Didn't Franchione leave 'Bama for aTm as well?
Maybe Alabama fans don't take football seriously enough for Saban? Interested in seeing how this one shakes out.

I hear Saban is only making a bit over $4 mill a year. I'm pretty sure there's a P12 team that will pay him more. Cost of living might dent it a bit though. Check it out Nick.
Seriously though, it looks like the P12 is already hitting the $4 mm mark for a new HC and we haven't even seen payouts from the P12 regional network yet. Does anyone doubt that once that kicks in we won't push even further up? ASU matching what tOSU and Bama pay for HCs?! Once P12 regional starts dropping money from helicopters, I think Mike Riley is toast and Oregon State pays whatever it needs to get whomever it wants.

This is a serious/real rumor? I get that UT has deep pockets, but it's not like 'Bama doesn't. Quality of life maybe? Or Saban just wants another challenge? I'm surprised though, as much as Saban has bounced around, I really thought he'd stick with 'Bama...

If he does leave-we are better then we got here. We have four coaches that have won a MNC. We will hire the fifth one.
Funny thing is another rumor down here is that CLM is going to UT and CNS is going back to LSU-now that one would hurt.

Posts like this is why I say you people don't take your football seriously. USA Today published an article over a year ago that showed CNS made almost $6M a year. It had your daddy CMB making $5.1M.

I get it now... so in context of this thread it is UT PCNS (prospective) who is also UA STBFCNS (soon to be former) and at CU we have CJE and OCEB and LBCBC.

The front runner for the HC spot would Coach Dabo Swinney who has returned Clemson University to a top ten football program. He played for CGS and was on the 92 MNC team. He has coached at UA and CU. You also have to love the swagger he has with today's counter punch to CSS.
“Coach Spurrier has been there for seven years, but after five years I think he had 35 wins and got a new contract," he said. "After five years at Clemson, if I have only got 35 wins there is going to be a new coach here. And you know what, there should be because there is a different standard.
