Hi! Visiting BYU fan here, looking for recommendations in Boulder/Denver.

Hey everyone! I'm a BYU fan who will be making the trip to Boulder for the game in a couple of weeks. What are the go-to spots to see in Boulder/Denver?

What is the best way to get to the game? Some schools have parking nearby, some have shuttles from the town/across campus, etc..

What is the best place to eat in Boulder? We're looking for something that is a classic, or maybe some small local joint.

There will be a few of us in my group, coming from different sides of the country, is there anything that is a can't-miss?

If you want something small/classic I would say the Dark Horse or The Sink for food

The Dark Horse offers a shuttle to the game and free parking. Otherwise there are plenty of paid lots. Or just park around any of the neighborhoods near campus and walk

Is there anything on/around campus that is a must-see? We love seeing the local area at the games we go to.
 
well, the local home grown weed is not to be missed.

kidding somewhat aside, please do go to the dark horse pre-game. you will be the only sober people in the bar and therefore you may find us even more hilarious than we do.

You'll definitely want to spend a lot of your time downtown on Pearl Street. Shops, restaurants, entertainers, people watching. Chataqua is a recommended visit and a great spot for a hike. Eldorado Springs is another great spot (with the pool/ resort) just south of town. The thing with Boulder is that it's not a place where it's some fixed activity to experience. A lot of the culture is about experiencing different things or just being outside. Different cultural and festival events downtown every weekend, amazing food scene for a small city with a ton of variety, great coffee shops/ craft beef/ ice cream parlors, and always a variety of performance art things happening with live music, dance etc in addition to street performers.

Pearl Street is a must. You could also do The Hill but that’s kinda the college kids area.

Hike Chautauqua

Maybe it’s just me but I’d rather spend my time in Boulder vs Denver. Unless you want to do a Rockies game or a museum or something… Boulder has plenty to offer
 
If you have a car, it’s an easy drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. Also, Trail Ridge Road up and over the Continental Divide. It should still be open at the end of September unless there are freaky early storms.

If they don't want to drive that far a quick trip up to Nederland gives a little taste of the mountains and can be an interesting distraction from the busy world of Boulder.

Must see is the political forum on Allbuffs. Please drop in and say hi.

Food: Zoe Ma Ma is always recommended (inexpensive, delicious Asian street food with a Michelin star). I'm also enjoying C-Burger right next door to Zoe Ma Ma these days. You'll find plenty of good food on Pearl (West Pearl has better food, East Pearl has a better feel and everything in the middle is touristy, but I still never get tired of it).

Definitely drop by the Stampede on Pearl Street the night before the game. I usually get to The Post (Chicken and Beer) at least 1.5 hours before the Stampede so I can get a seat before things get crazy. Then I'm done eating and near the start of the Stampede.

Parking? You might have to walk a bit but you can generally find parking on the side streets between Aurora and Cascade (between 13th and 9th).

Are you a serious hiker, or a hobby hiker? There is something in the area for you. Happy to make some further recommendations there.

I hope you have a great visit to Boulder, no matter what happens to your team.

They'll be at 120 losses by the time BYU gets here. No need to subject even BYU fans to that ****.
