Could be that the problems run deeper than at the coaching level. Could be that CU needs to rethink itself in regards to athletics. Could be that the ones in control just don't give a **** about sports.
Exactly - if you combine the fact the University does not want us to be good at football with:
- it is difficult to get kids into CU that other schools get in.
- we are now in the Big XII (as opposed to the Big 8) we are now directly competing against Texas schools with deeper pockets, more passionate fans, better facilities in a fertile recruiting ground.
- state funding is poor and TABOR laws are restrictive
- Alumni and booster support is suspect
I hate to admit it, but these facts. I have a feeling that great years at CU are more of an exception than a rule.
