How do these wins personally affect you?

Honest question, does your demeanor and attitude change when the Buffs win? If so, for how long? I, like many here are drinking the kool-aid this season and I can tell that I have a better attitude all around. I am very passionate about the Buffs, borderline obsessive and the agony we have lived through in the past decade has been Hell. That being said, I know for a fact I've been a nicer, happier person this football season and it's been without a doubt because of our football team. Even my wife has noticed. So how about you? And to what extent?

Side note: I'm watching the CU ASU game and the wife comes in the room and sees the Sun Devils uni's and makes that face and says "Oh my god, are they wearing the girls volleyball uniforms? Those look absolutely horrific." Thought that was a pretty solid comparison.

I've been a happier person all season just because every weekend now has something to legitimately look forward to. It's also made running C-Unit a lot more fun because students are actually excited and happy to be involved.

My wife literally tells me I need to go somewhere else when the buffs don't win because it puts me in the foulest mood. The bigger problem is the Rockies do it to me as well and those games are daily through the summer. You can imagine my wife has been a very tolerant person over the last 14 years i've been married.

I forgot how much fun the actual football part of college football can be.

Definitely carry a brighter attitude in to each week - starting with the CSU blow out. The UM and USC losses didn't get me down much as they were chalked up as sure losses before the season started. I feel a nervous and excited build up to the game each weekend. I'm not sure what I will do about next weekend as the Buffs are off for 11 days between Stanford and UCLA.

I have wondered if this is healthy - I feel like a high schooler being happy because you are hanging out with the cool kids for the first time in a while - and I always thought that **** was ridiculous.

I'm actually enjoying this college football season. I can sit and watch a (any) game without hitting a "meh, whatever" moment, and going to do something else.

I've also enjoyed discussions with people at work, church, etc., about games, conferences, faux realignment, teams, and especially my Buffs. They are getting noticed.

there are now more than two people who physically work in my office that are not only aware of the Buffs, but willing to talk college football in the break room. my life has improved dramatically.

I used to be a miserable f*** when the Buffs lost until 2011; 2012-2014 got me more ambivalent towards the losses. Starting last year, the losses have started hurting again. This year Michigan and USC had the potential for day ruiners, but I'm able to keep things in perspective that I pegged those as losses coming into the year. The stretch of this year and moving into future seasons is going to be bad news bears. My phones and/or remote controls better be on the god damned lookout if the Buffs have a ****ty game.

Mostly it has impacted how I view other games. Last year, the only games I ever watched were CU games. I guess I probably watched a few bowls as well, but those were mainly background noise. This year, I typically watch every Pac 12 game I can. It feels like we are *really* in the Pac 12 now, whereas before it kinda seemed like we didn't belong.

I get so ****ing stoked after a win. USC and Michigan games put me in a slump.

I, too fall into the asshole when we lose category. I don't think I ever reached the complete apathy state, though there were many games over the past 4-5 years that I turned off.

My wife will probably tell you these wins make EVERYONE's day better :)

that's a big hole if you fall into it.

It's a struggle, I've never dealt well with losing, mine, my team, etc.

Guess maybe I'm just an asshole, and I blame it on my team?
My son used to stay away from me when lost. He knew I wouldn't take it well lol. Now he watches them with me so I'm better at it.

Makes fall so much more enjoyable. I grew up following standings closely, discussing bowl game possibilities, amped all week for big games and sick on Sunday after losses. That all lasted until late in the Hawk era. I still followed every game, but apathy set in. Losses were expected. We've been out of the bowl loop for so long that I've had to catch up on the new alignments and 200 teams now in bowls (Please cut down on 5-10 bowls and permitting 5-7s). It makes a mockery of it...Dollar General Bowl? Seriously?)

Hey now I buy dog food from Dollar General sometimes, close to my house. All seriousness, the bowls do need tweaking.

Ewww. Baseball? I thought the pre-humidor Blake Street Bombers days were entertaining, but it's been years since I've watched a baseball game. A 3-2 game puts me to sleep. Maybe I'd feel differently if I grew up following a major league team, but I was 19 when the Rockies came to town. It's just not in my blood the way the Buffs and Nuggets are.

Same here! I'm back to being a college football junkie like I was in my younger days. I cram as many games as I can into my Saturday viewing and catch some Football in 60 on the Pac-12 Networks during the week.

As far as my mood after losses goes, of course I'm bummed but I don't let it affect the way I interact with others. I keep it to myself and I stay positive about the next game.

So much more enjoyable but, there is a definite apprehension there after the last decade of disappointment. At least the dog doesn't get kicked as much.....

I too was an asshole after a loss. I have a hard time turning off my competitive spirit when I watch football as I still feel like a player. So when my team loses, I lose. I had a hard time with the Hawk and Embree years. Really hard time. Actually, if this board didn't exist, I'm not sure what I would have done. My anger for losses really kind of ended in the first quarter of the Fresno State game. That was the most embarrassed I have ever felt from a sporting event...and I grew up a Bronco fan in the 80s.

My anger subsided and became hysterical laughter. Then, about 3 years ago, I really contemplated the unthinkable. Maybe I should start following another school, or just giving up and not watching college football at all. I had been defeated. The team was a joke and it didn't seem like the admin cared. 1 more year I would tell myself. If I didn't see improvement, thats it, I was done.
We did make improvement...albeit minor. We weren't good by any stretch of the imagination, but we at least looked like a team. We had an offense...with actual plays. It's been a long and slow journey, but we're back. And I'm thankful to everyone here that, whether you realized it or not, you kept me following. You kept me sane. I didn't really post, and still don't post much, but I'm an avid reader of the site. I love this site, this school, this team and everything that goes with it. I live for this ****!
So, to answer your question, it means a lot. More than those men that run out of the tunnel will ever know.

Oh, and I also have a black mini schnauzer that is named Norah (wife wouldn't go for Ralphie) that I make run down the hall before a game and I follow while singing the Fight song. My dogs are afraid of me because of how loud I am during a game.

This is a bit petty, but a lammie alum I know always, ALWAYS says "they're never going be competitive in the PAC 12". Just having him eat crow makes me feel great.

It doesn't affect me much. We've sucked for so long I got over being pissed at losses and now I'm having a blast with winning but it doesn't change my mood. Could be getting older too...kinda mellows you out.
