EXACTLY! the VAST majority of our fans are good people...but we still have a bad name because of ass hats who throw crap on the field! classless and total BS

Agree - I saw a CU fan throw a glass whiskey bottle onto the COLORADO asphalt at the end zone years ago (more than I care to remember); disgusting. Would also say that pasting the sideline people with snowballs does nothing for our rep either. Rowdy is one thing and sometimes class and no class is a matter of opinion. I don't wear a tie to games. But littering the field definitely degrades the team and the University.
Am I allowed to throw my love of the Buffs and my loud cheers down on the field?
How about my marshmallow filled nails?
Seriously, I know that crowd misbehavior can be annoying, but we only perpetuate the notion that CU fans are worse than any others by complaining about it here. Also, given that Buff82 (I think that was his handle) is no longer here, I think it is safe to assume that none of the posters here are among those that need to be worried about.

Maybe I'm paranoid (or maybe I remember being at Folsom for the Student Section removal for the NU game), but am I the only one who breathed a small sigh of relief when CU won the coin toss in overtime against CSU and CSU got to choose their end of the field? I cringed a little at the thought of what might come out of the stands when CSU had the ball on offense if they were at our end of the field.

In defense of the students, that was 2005 - many of those kids (if they were truly CU students) are gone by now. The students now (meaning this year and last) have been much better in terms of sportsmanship to me. Plus, I thought it was awesome how loyal they were last year when our season was "difficult". Celebrating after the TTU game with the team was awesome. In lean seasons, the student section would be lucky to get 40% full. Plus, they were incredible at the CSU game this year and I saw A TON of students down at ASU last weekend.
It was nothing more than mortifying when it happened, but let's move on and celebrate the fact that the students are so pumped about the game this weekend that they have single-handly started the BLACKOUT. :thumbsup:

The student section of today has nothing like the cup wars that took place during the 3.2 beer serving era. Back then there used to be a blizzard of natty light and plastic cups that would make both Sacky and Sam Keller weep.
Nowadays, the survellance from Gamow Tower and the fieldhouse would make Bill Bellicheck proud. It's hard for a CU fan to pass gas without getting tossed from the stadum these days. Just try to throw a piece of orange on the field, or lift a co-ed up for some stadium body surfing and see how long you can get away with it. The Eye in the Sky will single you out and radio your location to lords of discipline down below. The next thing you know, you'll be getting the courtesy escort and complementary shoulder message beyond Folsom's gates. For the real basket cases, the Addiction Recovery Center is just a few blocks away. I haven't heard if there is a TV in the ARC this year.
Anyone want to bet that there will be more tear gas canisters than kegs on the hill tonight? You know the Boulder Riot and SWAT teams will be honoring the blackout, complete with black helmets, black cargo pants and black night sticks. Nobody ought to spark up a lazyboy after the game, okay?
Now that Marshmellows are contraband at CU, rumor has it that Texas Tech holds the title for being the biggest tossers in the B12. Red Raiders fans have a reputation for flinging tortillas at the opposition like some ultimate frisbee free-for-all.

Hope you are kidding, but in Boulder would not be suprised if they do have cameras on the students. When I was a CU we could be and were drafted, could drink beer but could not vote. Now the students can vote, can't drink and can't be drafted. Thats a better deal but now Big Mommy and Daddy are watching your behaviour at a football game??? Not sure we've made any progress.
its a shame the marshmallows had to go away. we should have instead went the direction of the halftime student marshmallow throw, sponsored by stay-puft.
if the zorros want to huck tortillas, so be it. a tortilla is innocuous.
i have been kicking around how to ask this, leash. i can't think of any other way than to just ask it.
how many ****ing games do you see cu fans throwing trash? i know of only a small number of which i am aware, one of which was made into a huge deal.
do you say the same thing about husker games? you have seen them throw trash AT buff players while in lincoln.
what's the deal?
