The reason it was toxic is because other than AD specific resources the school (embodied by empty suit Phil) was not willing to invest anything in football. This job was toxic before he got here.
If Prime can’t make it work? Sorry, but was he considered a cant miss coaching hire? Are you suggesting this is the University’s fault?Yeah I think that was the biggest risk of the prime hire. This job was toxic before he got here. If he can’t make it work, I can’t foresee us getting anyone deserving of a P4 gig.
I just saw the score and was about to post the same thing. They are going 0-12It could be worse, we could be UCLA football right about now.
This is a great job and we could get a very good coach quite easily. Support is all in line now and its a new day. I think Prime needs to call Saban and let him tell him what to do statIf Prime can’t make it work? Sorry, but was he considered a cant miss coaching hire? Are you suggesting this is the University’s fault?
Prime was a guy with 3 total years of HBCU coaching experience when we hired him. He and Shedeur gained a relationship with a generational recruit and he made headlines for his recruiting ability because he convinced Travis to sign w JSU. His shortcomings and lack of experience as a coach was supposed to be made up by his talent acquisition abilities, but has he really lived up to those expectations through 2.5 recruiting cycles? He had no college Rolodex for hiring qualified coaches, but again, we all thought it was exclusively the Jimmy’s and Joes not the X’s and O’s so nobody really cared.
This hire always came with risks, but we all chose to ignore what those risks truly were because of where this program was. We all defended the portal heavy strategy and we **** on national analysts for “not believing”. Truth is, he is a media/marketing mogul, that doesn’t put much personal effort into recruiting and isn’t qualified to be a P4 OC or P4 DC.
The University has done everything it can and far more than most P4 programs of CU’s level. If the university commitment continues, there shouldn’t be a problem being a good P4 coach in the Post-Prime world.
At least UCLA got lucky with a non-stop ticket to the Big10 with the prestige, $$$ and security. It could be worse, we could be UCLA football right about now.
If I was CU, I'd love to be in their position right now.did all that money look like it was helping at all last night?

You know what all that publicly known money does do? It entices greedy coaches and their agents to give themselves raises.
Of course you would. Playing in a bunch of states with no alums and terrible weather, destined to be a perennial conference speed bump like NU. UCLA will NEVER win the B1G. You know who will? Ohio State, Michigan, sometimes Penn St. Maybe Oregon wins. Maybe. If I was CU, I'd love to be in their position right now.
It will be an insurmountable advantage for B1G & SEC members when their pay scales for players can be double any other FBS conference member while still having double the revenue available for other things than anyone from any other FBS conference.did all that money look like it was helping at all last night?

lol no he wasn’t a can’t miss coaching hire. And no, it was the right hire. In what world did you gather that I think a risk = university at fault? I think you’re being disingenuous if you’re acting like you don’t know what I mean. But he has the kind of pull that should be able to get huge donor buy in and end up with better recruiting results than we’ve seen. Sure the donors have stepped up but it’s painfully obvious we are getting out bid quite often. If the donors won’t step up for Prime, they won’t step up period. We just don’t have the base. If he’s fired, he has the contacts and influence to steer people clear of this job. And I believe plenty of coaches will simply look and say “he couldn’t pull elite talent in, I’ll go somewhere that it’s easier to do so”. Not to mention, he managed to convince us to make him one of the highest paid coaches in the country and this is what we get on the field in year 3? What other coach with an Overall 13-12 record could have convinced the university to shell that much out? This hire had different risks than others, I thought that was obvious. If Prime can’t make it work? Sorry, but was he considered a cant miss coaching hire? What am I missing? How does the defense keep getting overlooked? We have a worse run defense than the cardboard era.Prime needs to fix the offense first.
He needs to do similar to his first hire with Sean Lewis and hire a can’t miss rock star.
This is the correct take.lol no he wasn’t a can’t miss coaching hire. And no, it was the right hire. In what world did you gather that I think a risk = university at fault? I don't think that it true. the defense has been really bad and inconsistent but we have a lot more talent than back then and it isn't even close. especially upfront...What am I missing? How does the defense keep getting overlooked? We have a worse run defense than the cardboard era.
You said, if Prime can’t do it we’ll have a hard time attracting good coaches. I took that as “if Prime can’t do it, no one can” and I think that’s a weird take. Do you feel like our talent level right now exceeds anything that another good coach/recruiter could pull in? Maybe not Juju and Seaton but everyone else? Would another coach with a legitimate system and great playcalling ability be able to elevate this talent to be successful?lol no he wasn’t a can’t miss coaching hire. And no, it was the right hire. His Atlanta years in the NFL point to someone who will try to find another gear to turn it around and grind... as long as the organization is committed to winning. If they prove they're not committed, he will leave for a situation that has the commitment. Also, paying him top dollar is a significant factor in how he perceives said commitment.Someone like Prime that is used to
wining and it coming easy. How does that type of personality handle such a hard row to hoe?
Feels like an Embree run defense. Huge swaths of field wide open. What am I missing? How does the defense keep getting overlooked? We have a worse run defense than the cardboard era.
